## Mobile version (Android for now) ready

Lumit is an arcade game where a player controls Orbs trying to keep them alive as long as possible.

Score is multiplied by number of orbs on screen.
High drop gives 200 points bonus.

Every Orb split into two smaller every 3 seconds.
If an orb collides with other one it absorbs it.
Loosing orbs decreases overal orbs scale procentage.

I did it in Compo deadline but I didnt have any music. So, I spent whole monday learning FL Studio to make some music, but I guess mastering FL Studio in one day is not that easy:)
So I just used a music by Muciojad (awesome track BTW).

The rest I did in PS, Unity.

[LEFT/RIGHT ARROW] - move left/right

Doesn't run in Linux, are you sure you uploaded everything the game needs? It complains about a missing data folder

I feel like if you had thought about the gameplay a little more this would be a super cool entry, but as it stands it doesnt offer much to be honest. Very innovative though.

Love it - it's very fun game! Nice and polished too, given the time frame - wasn't expecting a leaderboard xD

Well polished game, although rather challenging. I like the audio, it seems to be "matched" nicely to the difficulty :)

@nuno sorry. I dont have Linux so I coudnt check and didnt know what actually is needed to run it on Linux and I forgot that Data folder.

Now its correct. Zip archive with all needed files for Linux.

really good game. love the concept a lot.

@Luke Molnar I hit 80K+ once while testing :D

The concept is very innovative. Even though the game doesn't offer much variety (yet?), it's the perfect base for a time sink game. I felt like playing a modern version of a basic pinball game where all I have is a 'tilt' mechanic.

The sounds and music were satisfying. It would have been lovely if the background music was linked to the action on screen. (More balls / action, more music)

I enjoyed your game a lot, and again, a really good concept that perfectly fits the theme of this Ludum.

@Rothens sorry:) same situation as with Linux. I started it on my PC and it worked, but just because there WAS data folder:D Link corrected for PC also now.

Excellent game, could definitely see myself playing this on iPad. It seems to start out brutally difficult instead of ramping up though! Very addicting.

Dec 13, 2014 @ 1:33am

Cool game, very nice graphics and interesting music matching the game style. The gameplay could be more challenging though - i didn't see much point in the orbs splitting, also the rotation could be faster. Good job, overall very polished!

Leaghorn says ...
Dec 13, 2014 @ 1:28pm

@Tiago Ling Alexandre more chellenging? :D I see. So I guess this number 1 record is yours? :P

Orbs splitting is THE POINT of the game:
- it's harder to focus and control 2 orbs than 1. The more orbs there is, the harder it gets.
- the score incrementation is multiplied by the number of orbs, so the more orbs you manage to keep on the screen, the faster score grows.
- when the orbs splits and you loose one, overal scale of the orbs drops, so the orbs are getting smaller and smaller as you loose some of them. If the scale drops to 0%... POP! no orbs ;)

If the orbs didnt split, THAT would be pointless. There is nothing hard in controling one orb. You could just jump in the middle of the screen forever.

And the rotation speed increases every second. Try to keep up to 30K+ pts ;) And if thats too easy, there is also Hard mode and Impossible mode.

Enjoy! :D

I had fun playing this game, but I felt like I was totally out of control for the most part. For some reason, I felt like the game might have actually been getting easier as the speed of the level picked up and the size of the orbs got smaller. It would have probably been a good idea to have a timer on screen to show when the orbs were about to split, and I think that having the orbs split on a slightly slower timer might have made the game more interesting. As it is now, I tended to just pick on orb and try to keep it in the center as much as I could, but even doing that I wasn't able to break 20k. The music was pretty fitting in keeping the game fast paced, but it clashed somewhat at the beginning when things were moving really slowly. The art was mostly functional, however the only problem I see with it is that the red outline became a little hard to notice when the level speed picked up (I am red-green colorblind so it was extra bad for me). I feel like you probably could have pushed the art a little more to make the feel of the game more fun to play. Overall though, really challenging, good pacing once the level started getting going, and really interesting idea. Thanks a lot for creating and sharing your game with me!

Dec 17, 2014 @ 8:38am

It looks really great! The game is very polished. I admire the original gameplay, but at the same time I didn't really find it that compelling. It felt a bit too random. Usually I love simple games but something just felt missing.

Really liked it! Simple, yet fun. The leaderboards is a great way to retain engagement. What I really liked about the gameplay is that at times you have to strategically switch your concentration to a new "main" ball so you can at least always keep one going. Very cool!

Dec 20, 2014 @ 4:19pm

hmmm... Thats weird. In which mode you played? I just tested in Hard mode and jumped on 10. habaHaba with no problem. You put your name you have to press ENTER to accept it. If your score did not jump on the board there had to be some connection problem. Sorry for that. Try again ;)

Dec 20, 2014 @ 4:44pm

Wow! So addicting. Great for a second game! I liked the hard more, it reminded me of "Super death grid of death", another LD game.
Why are there two Madballs in the leaderboard?

Leaghorn says ...
Dec 20, 2014 @ 5:09pm

There are [was] two Madball in leaderboard because once you typed with a space at the beginning - _Madball and Madball :D I will look into that, how to filter these unneeded spaces.

Glad you liked it ;)

ChronusZ says ...
Dec 20, 2014 @ 6:21pm

Very fun! I will say that the random levels are a little iffy for a leaderboard game, though. It might have been a better idea to hard-code the level.

Great game! I like games with simple control mechanics, but takes practice to master. The concept is great, graphics and audio are great, and the game feels fluent. I'd like to think of it as a leisure game that you can compete with your friends. Good job!
