IMPORTANT: If you're playing the updated version, and you get stuck in an unwinnable situation, pressing the R key on your keyboard will take you back to the last checkpoint you hit.

No sound, no music, no problem.

Seriously, though, this is my first ever attempt at entering Ludum Dare. And boy does it show. The player character's graphics were literally the last thing I ever did, so apologies for the stiff movement and nonsensical leg motion. Also, I didn't have enough time for a proper menu and win screen, nor any sort of audio component whatsoever. As far as the game's concerned I implemented everything I wanted except the pointless boss fight, so I consider this an overall success.

Controls are detailed in the game. It's dangerous to go alone, so go throw your robot buddy into a wall repeatedly.

UPDATE 5/5/11: I've uploaded a version of the game with the most pressing issues hopefully dealt with.

This game is the most awesome thing ever!
HUUGE potential. :)
My biggest difficulty with this game was that continued to get impossibly stuck within tiles. It took me longer to defeat glitches than to finish the game.

But it is WONDERFUL.

I played up until the part where it bricked me in Cask of Amontillado style. A button to go back to the last spawn point would help. Overall quite good though!

Nice game and fun mechanics. Liked the little dialogue that told the story too :).

Missing sounds and music thought :(.

Fun game, had to restart it twice(pushed to the start room by first elevator and like Daniel). A suicide button would have been handy.

Definitely some potential in the mechanic. Cute story, nice art(can't believe you were dogging yourself for it in your journal).

A nice chiptune would really set the mood and tone for the game.

Good stuff!

Nice game, but a little glitchy - mostly bearable until one of the lifts pushed me all the way back to the beginning through the floor, and moved my checkpoint as well. :(

A little light on the theme perhaps but fun.

Wow, this is one of the reasons why I sift through these games. A lot of them are terrible, but this one just makes me happy. You should really make more games like this, because I really like your style, especially in the game art.

Very nice, perfectly challenging little platformer. Clearly a lot of thought and love went into this one.

Ace work!

Just a sec, need to pick up my jaw from the floor.

The few glitches aside this is an amazing achievement over the weekend. From a solid graphical style, rife with life, animation and pretty physics to the actual gameplay that is simple yet challenging. A potent combination.

I've nothing to say. Get your ass in gear and get this fleshed out and finished up :D

Wow.. I'm highly impressed!
Another awesome game.. I love the graphics, the gameplay.. the story.. my only issue a minor one, is that sometimes the texts went by really fast. great lvl design. I liked that instead of having a health bar, the screen turned red.
Well done!

Neat partner idea. I found my self missing parts of the text though because it changed so fast.

Very solid and fun game!
The only problem I see is the somewhat funky collision. Other than that it's really good!

Great little game! You could probably expand on the ways in which you can use the platform bot, like going up walls. Good work on all the dialogue. I didn't know if it was safe to jump down at the first launch pads as I couldn't see them. Also it is a bit glitchy, I got stuck below the moving staircases after the green one-way blocks.
