This is the result, made by one single person. I would like to add more puzzles, would you like to have more thinking-puzzles, or adding a deeper meta-game, like the fish (player) is an AI and the whole game is running as it was a simulation inside a computer, so it can learn and when you finish the training you let it free in the real world where it can posses a robot-fish and swim and help animals and protect nature?

I am Pretty happy with the end result. It was quite the experience.
Build is uploading, will update when it’s done.
Today went more smooth than yesterday, though I didn’t put as much effort in today as yesterday.
I got the first steps of my “10 seconds” theme going with the AI and introduced some player side stuff; HUD for the health and ammo, as well as reload animation and magazines that spawn and drop when the player reloads. Tomorrow will be making the level and some final testing to make sure none of the AI is too buggy.
Like yesterday, I put together a time lapse of today’s work:
This is my second Ludum Dare and I feel much better about this one. I am using a lot of random assets that have been collected over the course of the last year, or so. This is also my first FPS game done with UDK, which I find somewhat amusing.
I had a few issues with the weapon placement as well as the hand rig but it only cost a couple hours to figure out.
Tomorrow I will get the AI working as well as the “10 second” theme involving them. I will also start to work on the level as well as the menu, before wrapping up the game elements on Monday.
If you want, I put together a time lapse video of today’s effort.
Minimalism is an interesting theme. I’m not sure how I will tackle this, yet.
I will be using:
UDK
Photoshop
Maya
Visual Studio Express 2008
hello! I was wandering, can i use the Cyengine 3 in ludum dare? and what would i do about the source code? give them the project file?
