So the last Ludum Dare I participate but maybe with some very native tools so today I’m gonna try almost the top in tools, not something as Unity but an JS framework. So, my tools will be:

  • EnchantJS as Engine
  • Graphics Gale as Pixel Art Editor.
  • bfxr as Music FX creator.
  • And some music generator because… I just don’t know anything.

It will be my first time with EnchantJS so hope It goes like I need 😛 But I think it very basic. Just want to finish the game :)

Good luck to everyone and have fun!

A while back I tried to make a worm game, But created this instead.

You choose a color (Through spacebar or the 123 keys) and overlap to make more vibrant colors and move around to draw,

See an example:

/me sucks at flowers

I suck at flowers

So I’d just like to see your thoughts on this “thing”

Hello everyone. I’m just trying myself in gamedev, so I’m not sure, would be my game finished or not, but I really want to try myself in this.

Programming Languages: Flash
Editor: FlashDevelop
Graphics:  Photoshop, Inkscape
Sound Effects and Music: Jamendo, FreeSound, bfxr
Library/Framework: Haxe/OpenFL

Haxe Planets (WIP)

Hi all,

I started today… In this opportunity I’m using Haxe (http://www.haxe.org) and NME (http://www.haxenme.org).

The game is about an astronaut who has to save the Haxe Planets (small planets that have Haxe: the fuel of intergalactic ships).

Today I ported a platform library and improved it to Haxe/NME (I added camera support, improved jumping, etc.), I made a small tool that turns Tiled maps into Haxe classes, created some graphics, and a first level to try the engine.

I pretend to use the engine in touch devices like smartphones and tables, that’s why I chose HAXE NME, so the game is a ONE BUTTON PLATFORM... with a couple of twists I haven’t seen implemented in any one button game game I know.

All the “art” is work in progress (as usual in my games all graphics are in gray scale)

Good luck to all!!!

To try, or not to try…

I made this account so me and my friend(s) could maybe compete in next years Ludum Dare Jam, and I just read that there is a mini LD on the 17th. All I know how to do is make crappy games with Multimedia Fusion 2, I was planning on learning more/switching to Python+PyGame by the time of LD next year.

So should we try to make a game for the Mini LD?
