Well, we ran out of time so it’s unfinished, but I had a lot of fun. I don’t really know what I’m supposed to say here, but you can try it out for yourself over here. We might finish this at some point and turn it into a proper game.

At this time the game for the ludum dare is almost complete 😀 with tutorial and a general lvl :)

It’s simple but this time is only for pc just because i couldnt get time to set the touchscreen controls, but it could be in a future version.

You play as Kungo, a neandertal that protects the eggs of dinosaurs from alien invaders, to do it, you count with your streght, and that’s it. So break rocks, throw rocks and burn them into ashes. But to help you, each egg can hatch a powerfull dinosaur with special habilities, place them smartly and Destroy the Alien Spawners to win for the world!

PLAY The Last of Egg

The Last of Egg is a survival horror game. You play as the last remaining egg struggling to survive. Collect weapons, find crafting supplies, and avoid being attacked by the mutants of the land, known as “Sizzles”. Will you ever get home? Will you ever see Claire again? It’s what’s inside that counts my friend… so are you soft? Or are you Hard-Boiled.

Thank you to everyone that has played/voted. The comments have been great so far! You have plenty of time to watch Force Awakens….so scramble on over HERE before you head to the theater. Thanks!

Good evening devs and gamers!

This Ludum Dare we’re working on a small survival shooter with simple progression that is similar to Snake. The theme for this game is Growing. We decided not to go for the two-button controls theme. In this game, a band of Knights try to survive the attack of the evil executioners! As player levels up, their numbers and firepower grow, but enemies increase in number as well.

– Stream Link! –

We already have most of the environment done including the characters and animations, you can see a bit of it from the following GIFs:

Knight follower – Idle animation

Enemy executioner – Idle animation

We still have a lot to do, including the environment props and projectile models,  particle systems, audio and UI. Our plan is to make the game as juicy and as polished as possible. We have some gameplay GIFs to show as well:

Initial gameplay – Less enemies

Enemy numbers increase and player levels up!

We’ll get back with more updates late, we still have a lot to do. Want to follow our Stream? Click here!

PokEscape: A stealth game where you have to eat your cover

This was my fourth Ludum Dare, and I daresay the one I’ve been most comfortable in 😀

I got to sleep (before and during), I got to slack off a bit, I have many chopped features, I have sound! And an “ending”! It’s been a pretty good weekend.

As always, thanks to everyone involved in making LD the best of its kind! 😀

Play PokEscape before I spoiler anything for myself

But if you don’t mind spoilers (it’s not Game Of Thrones), read on!

So, the joke is:

You’re the (Poke) Monster.

The hook is:

A stealth survival game where you have to eat your cover to survive.

You’re a newborn Magicrap. You want to eventually evolve into a Gyradeuce. But before that, you have to eat, and live, and not get caught by those bastard kids with funny caps.

You hide in tall grass! But if they hear you they’ll investigate!

If you don’t eat you’ll starve, if the kids see you they’ll catch you:

Sure, you can of course get away despite the hardships.

But you’ll wanna risk your skin to collect money to send home to your Magicrap kin. After all, animals are fiercely loyal.

What I learnt making this?

Game design is hard. (I can do better)

Naming games is hard. (I can do better, PokEscape wasn’t even my idea)

Level design is FUCKING HARD. (I can do better. Maybe)

Give PokEscape a play!

You guys rock! 😀

Feedback for Space survival odyssey [Indies Vs Gamers]

Space survival odyssey Gameplay

This time it was a hard time creating the game.. I started trying to create a multiplayer but I give up, and when left 16 hours to deadline I decided to start another game that was this spaceman game.

Survive in the space, collect itens exploding meteors and explore the vast outer space.

How to play?

Basically you have three status bars and they measure the percentage of: oxygen; plasma (ammunition) and foot jet fuel.

  • Oxygen | Your oxygen will be constantly running out, for get more and to also continue alive you need to explore the pieces of meteors
  • Plasma | Ammunition for your gun, auto reloads when the gun is not being used
  • Foot jet fuel | Fuel of jet boots, auto reloads when on the ground

Currently there are 3 types of items: golden coins; blue jewelry and capsules of oxygen.

The time in space passes very quickly, so the longer you survive, better for your health 😀

Please play and rate it or just leave a feedback :)

and also check out this video below to see how it born!

There have been reports that 10 year old Newt Scoot has allegedly destroyed majority of his home in an attempt to blockade and subdue multiple unidentified entities. Surveillance footage from inside the home displays the boy shooting various items through what appears to be a makeshift, leaf blower cannon.  For more details, or to watch and “Experience” the action for yourself: Click Here

Version 4 of Quiet Life released

I updated my LD31 game to version 4. Focus of this update is on user friendliness, which really needed some help according to the feedback I’ve received.

Version 4 download link

Main change is to the controls. There’s now just one action button, which performs the displayed action, and a button to toggle between possible actions. The displayed action now also hints at what will happen if you perform the interaction, which is helpful when telling

‘craft this item’

from ‘kill the sheep in front of me’

Which will drastically cut down in the number of ‘oh shit I didn’t mean to do that’ interactions. It also highlights the tile on which the action is performed and as such hints at possible directional usages (the previous system of asking you which direction to use and forcing you to guess randomly is gone now).

Another much-needed feature is a simple highlight of your spawn location, which is now highlighted by a simple lighting effect.

Other changes include the addition of the Goad, which helps control sheep movement, and buffs to meat and grass seeds.

I hope that with this update the game’s difficulty will actually come from inability to juggle all necessary tasks rather than figuring out how the controls work.

Some people asked in comments if it’s really possible to “win” the game and keep all embryos alive? Yes, it is possible. I recorded walkthrough GIF to prove it.

Last Ark WalkthroughIt still requires some luck (digging resources, find a star), but still, it is possible :)

In this LD I learned something interesting: The German keyboard is different from here in Brazil. Y and Z are swapped!!!

I made a game that used the ZXC keys and received feedback that the game was difficult controls, but how would I know that !? :)

QWERTY … QWERTZ …  what more?

So I change the controls, Now you can play with A S D!

But I liked to receive this review, in fact, I felt that the LD is global, huge!
A guy who uses a different keyboard of my played my game! This is incredible!

I also made some changes in gameplay, I tried to make it more easy and fun game.

Still, I insist on killing monsters in the punch. #Hunf

That’s it,  release the game before the deadline is a good think, you receive more feedback to make the game even better!

I didn’t believe that I can do it until this moment! Here is my compo-entry LAST ARK

Roguelike survival about artificial life in deep space after the end of the Earth.

This is a point & click game.
You manage oxygen consumption, energy, health and resources. Your goal is to find a planet suitable for living. When you have landed at the planet – the game is over. So choose wisely. Check planets info to figure out if it’s good or not. The far you travel, the higher chance to find an appropriate planet you have.

I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Isn’t it ironic…

Don’t you think?… when the very essence of your game gets in the way of making said game.

Life unfortunately demanded more of my attention so the game got less of mine than first hoped.

However, I think it’s pretty unique and neat at its core, if you’re willing to explore a little.

Check out my entry for the Ludum Dare Compo at the link or image below: :)

Thank you, it’s been awesome. Albeit brief. Good luck to all that have entered!

Well this is a first :P

For the first time ever my LD has gone extremely well – I have a few hours of leisurely polishing before the end and I plan to make them count 😉

Probably the reason things went so well is that there are literally no sprites in the game, so that chunk of time could be used for music and programming instead.

Despite the lack of graphics assets I think the game looks pretty nifty though!

Teased? ;)

Another GIF after the “more” 😉

Aliens Drive Automobiles Poorly To Survive?!

Hey, fellow Ludum Dare contestants. This is my second Ludum Dare (previously entering Ludum Dare 22), and I bring to you something that I find quite… fun.

Or you can call it A.D.A.P.T.S for short.

The game involves you, a member of a newly evolved space civilisation, flying out to space for the first time. You don’t know what you’ll be up against, but like in the real world, you have to adapt to survive.

Conquer other species by destroying their spacecraft. Take their parts and gradually make your spaceship the best there can be. Will you choose a part with more health or a faster firing rate? How about a part with a bigger maximum speed or acceleration? It’s up to you how you play. All you have to do is adapt to survive.

Survival of the fittest, eh?
