Code Red – An insane action platformer

Code Red is an action platformer where you take control of an specimen that has escaped out of his containment chamber needing something, nourish yourself with human flesh while your mind is stormed with the need of reaching a room.

We’ve had quite a good reception about the game, our only issue is that some didn’t really felt comfortable about the controls, we would love to have more feedback about the controls, so if anyone is willing to give us some nice feedback we would love that! This was our first Ludum Dare by the way 😀

proofOfConcept  So, Proof of Concept, you CAN do a side scroller, WITHIN ONE SCREEN.. provided you show the tiles staying within the screen.

I solved the bug, and now i can spawn kids at an arbitrary rate. I added road depth, and i organized the code so that to add a new character is as easy as steal a candy to a kid :3.

now , i need to figure out where to put the damn goat. But first, some hours to sleep. it’ s midnight in here. See you later, and good luck for all the other evil creatives of the world :3

What an exciting day!

Late start! But likely to make it for the jam.

Yesterday I got around to a bit of sfx/coding, today I started it off with some graphics!

One leg is lacking a frame (poor planning) but that’ll come as a later fix, for now it’s time to put him in the game! Segmenting the body will allow me to easily aim in 6 directions with the upper body while the lower body reacts to movement/jumping/falling. Looks a bit stiff in the end, but it’s a marine!

Screenshots to come once I get some tiles and stuff going!
