I’m in Eighth Time

Hello! I’ll be grinding out another game in this coming compo.

As usual, using the 48-hour rules. This time, I’ll be switching up tools, to something I am only barely familiar with: Stencyl! Artwork will be made using GIMP, sounds will be made if bfxr, music in Pixel’s PXTone. I will be listening to Chillstep, drinking smoothies, maybe streaming(?), and loving every bit of this Ludum Dare!

I wanna make this a memorable LD weekend, so I made it a 4-day weekend from my full-time job. It also starts on the day that I age one year on paper. Super excited and as always I can’t wait to see what all of you come up with, wishing you ALL the best in creative flow and motivation!

In for the competition

Hello! My first LD, and I’m very excited to be involved! I’ll just be in with Construct Classic, ‘cos I got precious little coding experience. GIMP and a tablet for graphics, bfxr for sounds, and maybe pxtone if I lose my mind and fancy attempting some music. Anybody else disappointed to see “nihilism” get so many downvotes? That’d have been quite an interesting theme…

Anyway, good luck to all those involved! Cheers!

Downloads (both have windows exe + source code and Linux makefile):

Uses SDL, SDL_mixer and SDL_image. I used kate for code/text, gimp for graphics, sfxr for sound effects (thanks DrPetter!), and pxtone to make music.

If the Linux version crashes when you run it on 32-bit x86, use this SDL library (contains a fix for a bug in SDL_SoftStretch)

Edit: Figured out the Windows sound latency issue! Seems the SDL.dll I used was buggy. Replacing it with one from fixes things.
