Hello everyone

I want to present you our 6th LD game and 4th game made with godot engine.

We have had tones of fun inventing, creating, programming, designing and testing it.

The last part is presentation. I’m not so good at presenting something but I want to tell you some anecdotes.

My Idea on Sunday was, I wanted that the player loses clothes when he got hurt. (a joke perhaps nobody would see!!)
On Saturday night we had all the player animations and design ready.

So we let him lose first the hat, than the robe. (player has three hearts)
player_in_pants
While testing we noticed, the dead animation used the hat.

This dead animation was so cool, we don’t wan’t to change it.
What piece of clothing can he lose now? The underpants?

Finally we did it! We were so tired, the whole process took us 4 hours!

We’ve added an other joke, find it out be your self.
You can find our game here Wizard of Shapes

thank you for playing, commenting and voting

Primer Jam…

Posted by
Friday, April 15th, 2016 1:36 pm

Popup Lovers is back

Hi, this is Popup Lovers on the air:

Code – Sergi Montaner and Pau Novau (using Unity)

Art – Ana Jimenez (using Illustrator and Photoshop)

We won’t have much time this time to work on ludum dare, due to family obligations, working on monday and the fact that summertime in Barcelona is not the best time to jam.
(For instance, this is happening at a 15 minutes walk distance from my place)

Because of this, our game its smaller and we won’t be able to achieve the same level of polish as the previous LD.

We promise it to have the same level of addictive frustration as it has our past jam entry.

Here is the logo of our little monsterjesus_res

Hope you have a nice LD time!

Hello to all

We are currently developping a game for the Jam Compo.

3 people : a backend coder, a as3 coder and a designer.

Location : France

The client is in flash (as3)
Server to Client communication is done with PHP and à MySQL Database.

Libraries :  A couple in flash for physic effects and particules, ill list them later on Sunday.

The game and  concept will be displayed at the last moment but we are creating a interaction with LD26 and everyone that has created a Game on LD26.

We are having a hard time telling the designer that his concepts are not minimalistic :-)

Hey Indie community!

What do you want?

This is just to tell you that I have recently created a Twitter account, @jorjongames. Feel free to follow me! I will only tweet about game development.

Why would I follow you?

Hey, I’m not forcing you if you don’t want to.

Who are you anyways?

I made a couple of games for Ludum Dare, and I wish to someday make a feature-complete game. But I also love making tools for other to use, and I have posted them here before.

Can I have a kittens animated gif?

Sure

Hi everyone! I’m glad to say that I’m constantly visiting the web over and over, and I’m trying to play all of the games that I think that are good of the last LD.

I’ve met with Ludum Dare at the page of Evoland (a game of LD24) at Shio Games. I really liked the game at that moment and in the info said something about the site, and when I got in the first time, there was 1 week ’till this LD started!

I’m living in Argentina, and I talk Spanish here, so sorry if I mistake some letters 😛

I’m 14 years old, and I currently know nothing of programming, but I’m looking forward to learn something and make some useful program/game/whatever in any language. I was interested since last year (I think) and I wanted to learn BASIC first, but as long as I get some progress I’ll be happy about it.

If anyone is can/wants to teach me something, I’ll be glad.

See ya everyone!

Here comes a new challenger !

Hey, Hi there !

So I’ll try for the first time to make a little game and release it (as it is, good or not… or not). So, what’s better than the 100th Ludum Dare to do so ?!

I’m french and note really qualify to do that but it’s kind of what I like to do since a few years.

My plans are to make a 2D game with Click Team’s Multimedia Fusion 2. I’ll draw, code (sort of, MMF2 style) and maybe even compose (never done this before… I’ll probably tap some button and see how it sounds like). I will also probably make a livecam on twitch or some other service for you to come, see and comment my work. Ask me everything you like and give me some support on these days as I probably won’t sleep.

Engine:Multimedia Fusion 2

Graphics: Paper by FiftyThree (iPad) and Photoshop

Music: Don’t know really… Music Studio on iPad maybe ? BeepBox.co ?

Sound: SFXr probably… and why not record some stuff by myself.

Timelapse: Chronolapse (if I’m doing it)

Live Stream: http://www.twitch.tv/cubertoy

Other Tools: iPad, Pencil, Paper, PostIt, Coffee,Sonic Screwdriver

Sorry for my english, It’s not really that good but, hey, I’m french ! (who cares ?)

Voilà !

Presentation in German, and stuff

Heya,

I gave a talk in October 2011 (at the Devmania, a small-ish Hobby Gamedev Convention in Germany) about the three Ludum Dare games  I made so far, in front of ~80 people. You can watch it here if you happen to speak/understand German or just want to hear some gibberish: http://www.devmania.org/videos (scroll down to “Ludum Dare”). You won’t see my face in the video, as I was hidden behind a monitor, thank God.
Unfortunately the recording started a little bit late, so some stuff about I told about Ludum Dare is missing. But you probably know it anyway.

I’d also like to avail myself of the opportunity of announcing that “I’m in”! I’m not perfectly sure that I will really participate in LD No 22 (as the date is a little bit too near to Christmas), but at least I would like to do it.

Some shameless advertising following: At the Devmania I also created a game (theme: “Pirates”) in ~12 hours, called “Treasure Chest Island”, together with talented artist Björn Grunewald. You can now play an extended version on Kongregate. It is the first game I know of in which you play as a treasure chest, or a chest in general.

Here goes nothing.

I’ve been meaning to give Ludum Dare a try for quite some time, but the last three compos were all set in weekend when I was very busy. But this time I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to participate unless something huge earth-shattering happens.

Some quick words about me: 25 yrs young, math student (+ some comp. sci.), swedish, TERRIBLE artist/musician, decent programmer.

I’ll probably use Python + pygame, since that’s what I have most experience with when it comes to graphics, I looked a bit at rubygame as well since I’ve been wanting to try ruby for something bigger for a while, but I realized I didn’t have time to learn a new library before the compo starts.

This’ll be so much fun, I can hardly wait. :)
