Name of game is “Jim is Moving Out!”. I created only 7 levels (i wish had more time this weekend), but maybe i will continue with development! I hope you will enjoy it.

I will be participating for my 7th time this time :). I am so excited for this one! Someone just give me a theme, I want to make a game NOW!!!

This time I will try to make a game with my beloved low poly minimalistic art style, what do you think about this piece:
My first submission for a 48h Ludum Dare Compo has been finished… Here comes “Another Minimalistic War”
It was created with GameMaker Studio. It was so much fun!
Hey what about a test? –> here.
The game is done and I am exhausted. Time for sleep now and looking forward to your entries!
I’ve spent the last 2-3 hours balancing the game, which is actually a lot of fun. It’s actually an reward in itself to get to play and tweak your creation. And I invented a few new game mechanics too while I was at it. The game is more of less done, though I’m considering adding music maybe? We’ll see.
Also, I managed to get both the Java Applet-version and the HTML5-version up and running, so that was nice. I never take for granted that GWT actually works and compiles my stuff into something useful. It’s still black box magic to me.
We love alliteration (you know, “the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words”)… so why not to try to take a minimalistic shot at minigolf?
Minigolf and minimalism
So, we think about minigolf and minimalism. A ball, a hole, some obstacles and a swing. And how to perform a minimalistic swing?
We thought about the radius of a circle and we make it rotate anticlockwise in order to hit the ball. The more it rotates, the harder the hit! So, draw a radius and hit the ball!
We also thought about a really simple game mode to start with this radius/swing control mechanics. You will have some time to get the golf ball in the hole. If you get it there, you will play the next hole (depending on your performance, you will get some time bonus or not). The more holes you play, the better your score. (Note: we plan other game modes for future releases!)
So, here you have a screenshot of us trying to make a hole in one… SPOILER ALERT: We made it!
We have a Facebook Page. Come and check it out! We will be posting some news about the game there. We will have a playable browser version soon enough and we will tweak it in order to publish it in other platforms! So… Prepare to draw a radius and hit the ball!
My progress from yesterday is a little top-down minimalistic move and shoot. You can try it here (move with WASD shoot with left mouse). Today I plan to add a world-mode where the player moves from room to room.
5hs in.. Here is what i’ve been working on, first I started doing something isometric, wich is kinda wht was on my mind before the theme was announced, After about an hour I sent iso to f*** itself and started… well, this:
It doesnt really have much into, but its going smoothly, I should drop style now and focus on gameplay before its too late. Oh and I think I have a name already!, Return Home
looking at the picture I realize my asteroids look like giant potatoes. hehe…
(Im serious, it was an accident!!!!! =S )
miniPals is a minimalistic co-operative platformer. It features 7 levels of fun! 2nd player requires a joystick (sorry team)
Keep in mind that even though this is a co-op platformer, you can still enjoy it by yourself!
z – use power
x – switch player (1P mode only)
left & right arrows – move
