    Due to travelling we started pretty late for this LD Jam, its no a problem as as you can see above it’s progressing nicely, movement and combat is fully fleshed out leaving tomorrow to add in trading. The game looks much nicer in motion I though about posting a gif, but here is the WIP windows .exe which is even better https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31300151/SpacedOut/SpacedOutWin.zip WASD to move and turn, scroll wheel to zoom, mouse click to fire, Esc closes the game.     Streaming and Late

    I was up at 00:00 this morning, mortified to discover that there were still two hours left until the theme announcement and I was too tired to stay up and get an hour of work done before my unconscious mind would do the rest of the creative work.  Ten hours of sleep later, and there was a peculiar headache that wasn’t there before and I had to get something from the Post Office.  It came up to 14:00 before I started real work on the game, it’s now 17:14.  Around fifteen ideas have caught my imagination (what’s left of it) and I’m in the process of whittling it down to one.  If you want to see my antics, head over to my Twitch stream.

    Ok, after 8 hours, I’m finally sitting down to get started on my LD entry. This time around everything is against me. I had a hellish week, which left me tired enough that I had to just crash after the theme was announcing, and I’m also travelling, which means I only have my wimpy netbook at my disposal. But at least I got the theme I wanted since the first LD!

    Last LD, I make the mistake of not making the management game that I wanted, for fear that it was not going to be popular. This time around, since everything is already stacked against me, I will throw caution to the wind, and do the damn management game anyway!

    The idea is that you are a breeder of a certain creature that uses haploid genetics. You have to make money by managing your herd, and selling creatures that meet certain specifications.

    Let’s see how this turns out.

    The week is almost over, but that doesn’t keep me from entering the competition just now :-)

    My Entry It’s going to be a little puzzle game with a game mechanic based on contrast. I’ll write a little bit more about that later. I will use the rest of the evening today to setup my engine and start coding tomorrow. My goal is to get at least a working prototype with a few levels done until Sunday. Polishing can wait until after the compo.
