Hi ! This is our first Ludum Dare entry. Hellbound is a 2D action/adventure game, in which you play a demon fighting to escape his cell.

The game is missing a few details, such as a boss fight, and lacks an ending. That will be added in the following days. The update will be available on .

Directed by Martin Jacob

Programming by Léo Marambat-Patinote

Art by Sacha Rivière and Alexis Descamps

Additional graphics by Charline Hedreville

We are first year student in a video game school ! We hope you enjoy our work.

  • Hey, do you like low-poly furniture in your isometric room?
  • Of course!
  • Even with purple placeholder blocks in the middle?
  • Especially with that!

Previous Update: Dapper Penguin Studio – Day #1

Welcome to another update from the team at Dapper Penguin Studio.

Before we get started on what we’ve achieved over the last 24 hours, I’d like to remind you, that I am constantly tweeting about our development, the challenges we face, and also answering questions and offering advice via my own personal Twitter Account. Got a question I’m not quite sure of? Don’t worry, I’ll put it to the team here, and they’ll draw on their combined experience of over 35 years of Game Development knowledge, from Indie to AAA development, to give you the best advice we can!

Now, with that all out of the way, let’s get down to business. (To defeat, the Huns!)

I still have a lot of painting to do, lets hope that we will have enough time. Meanwhile my brother is creating the player collision.

Oh, and this character is not the player, so there is things yet to be seen!

If you like the art, you can explore my other works here.

Thank you and good luck everyone!

This is the stuff! I feel the urge to experiment, to breathe the true spirit of the Ludum Dare, and push myself into a realm I have never before dealt: the isometric map. Spent the hours I had this morning figuring out how to best render an isometric grid, and now…SUCCESS! Step one complete, I shall move on to some placeholder graphics and start the control scheme.

Progress, ho! First screenshot of tHMSBiHMZQ; an isometric adventure game. With fruit! Built in Python/Pygame instead of Ruby this time. Shaking things up a bit — but not too much.

Land, ho!

I’m not entirely sure where I’m going with this, but getting there is sure going to be fun. I’m aiming a little higher than normal, to see if I can cram in a bigger game in 48 hours. This is about 6 hours in.
