Here I go again…

Hi guys,

I’m in! yay!

OK last time did not end very well for various reasons (including a bad cold during the weekend) so I hope this time I will submit an entry.

I will most likely go for the jam category but who knows I might finish early and enter the compo (right, that’s not very likely).

I use Unity 3D, Modo 801 (brand new version not even installed yet!), ZBrush, Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer and Painter, Reason, Sonar X3, lots of VSTs, Band-in-a-Box… ok I’ll stop here, I know I own too much software I just can’t resist. Gotta buy them all.

Also I really want to make a game for the Oculus Rift this time. I know not many people have one but we are allowed to make ports of our games after the deadline so I could release it first for the Rift then have a version for regular boring screens.

Anyway I have updated my youtube video with all my previous games:

I have abandoned gamedev for a long time but I’m IN for this LD for sure!

I’ve been working with C++ and SDL 2.0 for the last month and I need to finish my C++ & OpenGL demo engine so I think I’ll use Processing as usual for a change.

I’ll be participating in this, my 6th Ludum Dare 48-hour competition! This weekend is something to be excited for, and prepare myself mentally and physically for. Let’s start with the basics:

Programming: C++ in MSVC++ Express 2008

Library: SFML 1.6, for Windows only.

Sounds: Audacity, SFXR, PXTone

Ingesting: A power smoothie made from the finest vegetables.

I’m going to give progress updates throughout the weekend. On this blog, on twitter (@feyleafgames), my facebook (for friends & family), and most likely youtube (because I assume everyone wants to hear my dashing voice!) Saturday early afternoon will be a break-time to spend with my son and my girlfriend. They are important, too ^_^

This is… LD #7 for me, I think. I’ll likely be doing it with Jonnopon and a co-worker whom I managed to convert to the cause, but we’ll see.

Syntactic Sugar Studio (my studio) has been pretty busy with a major commission, so this weekend may end up being too busy for us. Again, we’ll see, but we’re planning on doing our best!

From where I come

Haven’t participated for a while as was mostly interested in non game dev for some time.
Participated before a dozen of times and here are various previous results
Some finished, some not.

Plans and motivations

Actually this time hoped to participate in Jam version with one designer but he ended up too busy these week…

Participating again with aim to try do something for mobile phones using Adobe AIR/Flash as main tech.
Have only some experiments with AIR, actually participated in Global Game Jam in January making Java/Android game prototype.
Yeah native is cool with all performance and access but it definitely not good enough for quick prototyping.
So, I want to stress and squeeze all out of AIR this time around!


  • Target platform: Android(I own one duh) and may be Web, depends on kind of game I will be making
  • Coding: FlashDevelop, AS3
  • Art: Flash(animations, UI) and Photoshop(pixel art, textures)
  • Sound effects: as3sfxr
  • Music: probably none, depends on the time + if I find easy enough tool for quick generation of some music

Any advices on music generation apps?

Hi LD25!

This time I don’t have any new hardware to learn and I’m not really interested in HTML5 games – right now – and I don’t want to mess with Angie – it would produce a lot of bugs and code mess. However in the last weeks I used Processing a lot so that will be my tool for sure.

I’ll certainly try to use my NES Framework  – for Processing – made during the CharityGameJam. Sadly no game was made based on it then but it developed more since so if you want then feel free to download the latest version here: YouTube video of it. Read the description for updates!

I wish lots of fun and plentygood experiences for the weekend!

p.s: My internet connection having problems in the past weeks and my PC does wierd things so I’ll may not be overly social during this jam. :(

this time with Unity/C#, and for the first time with a artist as a teammate !! for audio we are planning to record using voices, and for 3D stuff blender will be the weapon of destruction !!

Quit my job, moved into my parrents basement (till I find a new suitable apartment), looking forward to go indie, full time. This being said, I have no excuse to not be in this round. Missed LD23 due to the crunch time brought by the need to release NOVA3, and I felt bad! With any bit of luck I can use the LD24 game as my first, crappy-ish :D, debut game. Good luck everyone, and may thy pixels and voxels, vertexes and computer specs turn out to be just as awesome as you want them to be!

Going to use the following tools:

  • LOVE2D
  • Lua Development Tools
  • GIMP (+_ paint.NET)
  • Ubuntu 12.04 and a virtualized Windows 7 (for paint.NET)
  • SFXr


P.s. had no idea how to name the post, so I went with “that”!

Hey, noob here. New to ludum, and to game making in general. For now I’m using a program I got about a month ago at DigiPen.  It’s called ProjectFUN and is essentially a “Unity 2D” that uses C++. By next LD though, my goal is to be working with LWJGL and Java to make the game from scratch. I’ll also likely use Bfxr or sfxr for sound. The goal for now is to finish in 48h. Anyway, that’s about all for me!

So this is the 4th time for me. I am excited but not like in previous attempts. I don’t have a new platform to learn during the LD so maybe I’ll concentrate on making a game this time… 😀

I think I’ll go with Processing and use Gimp and sfxr as before. Today and tomorrow afternoon I’ll refresh my Processing knowledge maybe sleep an hour or two and jump in!

Good day! I’ll be using Stencyl for my game, which allows people to use others’ creations. So yeah, I’m doing Jam. Sfxr’ll be used for sound effects (if needed), and Newgrounds Audio is used for music.

I’m wondering if my real life/ time zone difference will wreak havoc. Hopefully not.

Hello once again Ludum Dare! (#Tobuscus reference)

Last Ludum Dare, I made Invasion Of The Trivials, a first person shooter. You should check it out!

Before that, I made Isolated Assault, a first person sword action explorer game… I think. Anyways, you should check it out! 😉

Being as I am very used to first person games, that will probably be this LD’s game. Although I might go for something different this time… who knows 😉

I use Unity Indie – mostly javascript.

For music I use Garageband, check out my songs :)

For 3d models, I use Blender.

I’m very picky about having the user control settings, so be sure to expect customization of sensitivity, quality, and volume! Also I’ve worked to create good visuals in levels and tend to make the enemies basic shapes!

My HUGE PROJECT I’ve been working on is Isolated Assault 2, the sequel to my first ludum dare game! It’s currently an extremely advanced first person shooter with the same basic idea of the original.

My goal for Ludum Dare is to get top 10 in at least 1 category, so be sure to check out Rob Productions’ game this time around 😀

I’m pretty sure I won’t be as nervous this time! 😉

Programs and tools I will use on my Adventure:

Framework: Stencyl -> sounds noobish, but the drag&drop scripting helps me to concentrate on the main issues
Concept: good old paper (about 1/2 year)
Music: Autotracker – random music is awesome!
Sounds: as3sfxr – randomness again
Textures: GIMP and maybe RunningBrushes – my favorite part!
Other: chronolapse for the timelapse ; LibreOffice to fix my language mistakes

This is my first ‘big’ Ludum Dare I do enter. I already entered 3 game making contests before (2 Mini-LD’s) and won 2 of them (not both Mini-LD’s). I’m planning on creating a working plan this time to make it less chaotic.

Yet another I’m in!

Already had several all nighters this week which I class as TRAINING!!!
