We made it! Our public bathroom is now accessible to all.

Check out our submission.

I am especially happy with how well I Clean Toilet resembles our initial concept, which thankfully took just a little bit of brainstorming this time around. The collaborative workflow between Daan and myself got a little tighter than at LD36 too, and the game turned out pretty polished.

We got some help from Chris “MeatMachine” Napier with his recordings of bodily functions. Whether these are the real thing or imitations I’ll leave to your imagination.

I hope you’ll give our game a go. If you do, leave us a comment and the next game will be better still!

@Flaterectomy | @DaanRedblade

Today we settled on a title: I Clean Toilet. And guess what? It actually turned into a game! Daan magicked my assets into a rather nifty public bathroom simulator. It definitely feels like all the are pieces coming together.

I spent the day adding new characters and tiles to the game before switching over to music and sound effects. This is the first time that most of the sounds used are home-recorded (either by myself or by our friendly contributor Chris “MeatMachine/The Ectocosm” Napier). Below I added some previews of said sound effects and music.

Having brainstormed and settled on an idea fairly quickly this time, DaanVanYperen and I (we’re Genuine Earthmen, just like you, our fellow earthmen) have gotten to a good start. I originally feared feeling limited by the theme of One Room, but as always restrictions will set you free.

Since it’s just one room, we decided to go for the best room: the public bathroom. We can’t wait to share what we’re up to in public bathrooms with you all, and we hope you’ll all join in on the tremendous fun we’ll be having in the public bathroom. Did I mention public bathrooms yet?

We’ll be using:

Artemis ECS framework (check it out!)

IntellIJ IDEA, Java

Photoshop, Audacity
