It’s roughly 5 a.m here and I’m tired. I’ve finished the game but for some reason the loading gets stuck at 0% when playing it online through the browser. Playing it offline seems to work though. It’s a 3MB self contained flash file so I don’t really know what’s wrong. Perhaps it’s some server issue but it seems impossible that both swfcabin and google code has problems hosting my game.

Anyway, I’m really tired and I might be overlooking something obvious so without further ado here it is in all it’s glory:

I broke the health rules a few times.

No energy drinks blah-blah,

No alcoholic beverages,

Sleep like normal, blah-blah.

Rather than going to bed,

I may be sure i did

Pour  redbull in a glass of vodka,

Then well…oups i did it again.

Now there is one day left,

And FFS i couldn’t tell

If it is half the total days,

Or two thirds but anyway

I’m drunk and french so it’s real late,

But am i still that gentle knight?

As i politely kiss you good night.

With an hour to go, I have uploaded my competition entry. I’ll inform you all about what went well and what went bad tomorrow. As well as testing out some other games.
P.S. The worst thing was learning object orientation for the first time, I probably did more on the 3rd day than the first two!

I like it in the darkness! Also, how on earth can you guys work without desk space to rest your arms on?! You gotta teach me that some day, cause I surely can’t. Also, here’s my mascot:


I love him to the very core where he stores my coffee. Well, Coffee is for later, I’ll get some sleep and see you guys in the morning about 3-4 hours into the dare!

End of day1 update

Well, there is definitly a game here now.  It’s my take on a minimalist space battle.

The ships move around and will automatically shoot if they see an enemy in their weapon arc. The player controls the red shipsby clicking on one, holding down the mouse and moving it left or right, this determins if the ship will go forward, turn constantly to the right or the left. The mousewheel controls the speed of ships under the pointer and right click will activate some special function on the different ships.

The game can be paused at any time and orders can be changed while paused. Not sure if I’ll keep that feature though.

TODO for tomorrow:

  • At least some kind of AI for the opponent,  at the moment they just go forward or in circles.
  • Levels, Goals, Score, Structure of the game
  • Some more graphical special effects
  • Sound
  • Music?
  • Possibly more types of ships. There are three at the moment

Oh well. I’m happy with what I’ve done today given the distractions, pauses, and so on. I can’t wait to see what kind of insanities everyone has made when I wake up tomorrow. :)
