Help the little astronaut give life to a barren rock by planting, harvesting, buying and selling seeds and building up an atmosphere! ♥︎

Ava and Marte made an LD jam game for the 9th time in a row! Woah!

Had tons of fun making this years entry, but now I think it is time for sleep.

An entry made in 72 hours by Ava and Marte. You find yourself with a severe case of amnesia in a locked room and need to figure out what’s going on. The story isn’t quite what we intended it to be, nor as long, due to time constraints, but hopefully you’ll get something out of it anyway! It’s a concept, after all! And it has wacky shaders and creepy audio, so who can resist? ♥︎

Click this post to read more than the excerpt, for some post mortem information and pictures of the process! ☆

Games you can play… again

Monday, April 25th, 2016 7:36 pm

(You can check our entry here)

I like to write posts promoting some entries. To be honest, I find it that this edition has a really good level overall, for the moment I haven’t found any game that had a rate less than 3/5. I am really enjoying it, and here are some of the games I played and I like the most.

I am looking for more games to play, post yours on a comment!

Party at the Knightclub

Triangles Say Yip

Project G.R.I.L.L.

Have fun!

Moar games you can play!

Thursday, April 21st, 2016 4:12 pm

First of all, I recommend you try our web game Henkan Pachinko. Why? Well, because it is our game, and I would be an idiot if I didn’t profit from this post to promote ourselves (you can try it here).

Well, it was just a silly joke, but the truth is we will appreciate you try and rate our game.

However, this post is to recommend some cool games of this Ludum Dare which I think you could like! I am also looking for games to play, I don’t care the port, they can be web or standalone, so post yours on a comment!

Well, now let’s go with the games.

Greedy Miners

Zen and the Art of Transhumanism

I drew this because I was bored

Hidden in plain sight

Kenneth Rice: Vampire Detective

Jam entry: SQUIGGLES

Click here to go and play the game!

Hello! Ava, Marte and Morten once again teamed up for the jam. This time we ended up following the theme both mechanically (squishy, deformable octopus) and narratively (tadpole growing up into a frog). Help them help each other through this puzzly maze!

The game ended up having to be somewhat experimental in nature; emulating a squishy octopus in a rigid body physics engine was a bit difficult! It’s not entirely bug free when it comes to said cephalopod, but it was fun and worth trying.

Two thirds of us weren’t really feeling well this weekend, but we marched on! This did however mean that some of the details from our previous entries, like dynamic camera, little cutscenes and sound effects all had to go this time around, so it does feel unpolished there, but music alone actually sort of fits the mood of this game, so…

Have a play, will you? c:

What Went Wrong

Making a rock band game in 3 days IS hard.

Making a rock band game + a shooter  in 3 days IS harder.

Sometime you have to sacrifice gameplay finess to fun.

There are still big gameplay and cognitive issues.

What Went Right

The result is true to what we had in mind.

We had a lot of fun.

We learned a lot.

At last, we made a game with Black Metal.

It was an awesome Ludum for us, we had many issues with the whole complexity of the game, in technics or sound recording, the game was demanding on resource and people. We were really motivated to make something special and we hope it shows. We tried to pay hommage to things we loved. We tried to inject passion, references and subgenres.

We enjoyed making this game, it wat a lot of fun, heaps of disagreements and tons of pleasure designing that little torture machine.

Annnd we could not resume this 3 days in a short form…

For people who want to know more (too much more ?), we made a very extended version… Double Kick Heroes Post Mortem : Saturated Fat Version. Leave us your comments or questions in the gdoc if you want.

If you haven’t checked the game yet, you can play and rate Double Kick Heroes right here!

Thank you very much and see you soon!

Double Kick Heroes mixes a shoot’em up with a rhythm game!

You must survive on the highway to hell by killing zombies with your gundillac!
Struggle throught the 4 levels of total madness and escape from this nightmare! Only the power of Black Metal can save your band!
When the yellow dot comes to the fret, play your kick drums by pressing left/right or Z/X to trigger the guns to destroy the zombie crowd before they reach you !
Don’t forget to play in 60fps with the windows version of the game!

You can rate the game here !

Made for the ludumDare 34 by Blackmagic @blackmagic for the programming, Gyhyom@gyhyom for the art, and our badass friend ElMobo @elmobo for the awesome musics sound design! Don’t miss our soon to be made post-mortem & timelapse of the game.

See you next time!

Woohoo! Finished!

Okay, so this time I managed to enter the Compo! This is great – last time I could only enter Jam, and the entry was far from finished. This time I’ve managed to finish something playable – and mind that I actually had no real idea how to work with JavaScript and knew *nothing* about Phaser, so I’m actually glad I did anything!

Hey, if you want to see the game, feel free to do so:

Save the Monster!

Now working on a timelapse and postmortem post, because unfortunately tomorrow I need to get back to my daily job. ;( Anyway, I’ve had lots and lots of fun! Thanks!

Also, to all the jammers out there, good luck! And if you wanted to enter the Compo, but went into Jam instead because your game wasn’t ready – don’t worry, what’s important is that you’re still fightng! Don’t stress too much about quality – as long as you’ve learned anything during last 2 days, it’s really, really great! 😀

Done! Ready to infect some people?

I AM DONE. Done with my game, Virus, done with this Ludum Dare.
It has been a great one, and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Anyway, there’s still one thing I fear, like every time – the fear of the game being unbalanced, the graphics looking even worse to others than to me, audio not playing, or something else in that direction.
That fear is hard to come by on my own, so I need your help.

Please help me test this thing!

I would be more than happy if you could visit my game (here is the Entry Page) and give me crucial feedback in these few remaining hours.
If you do, I’ll gladly give your game a vote as soon as that’s possible.

Have fun whatever you’re doing, be it finishing up your own game or looking through the ones made by others!
