Lode Storm – For this 7 Day RTS

An extreme amount of effort, mental stress, sleep loss, and caffeine have been put into my entry so far.

Code name ‘Lode Storm’, it is a tough effort to recapture the magic of the classic RTS games mainly C&C.

I am the sole developer, doing the programming and all the graphics too,  and it is implemented in C++ and SDL.

Most exciting is the AI which uses some pretty gnarly algorithms, and is capable of some really nice stuff already.

Plenty left to do however…

The last hours of working almost killed me. Even if there’s another hour for the compo, for me it’s 2AM and I’m really tired.

First day done

I’m done for today, I managed to word for about 6 hours, and I’m a lot satisfied about what my game is becoming. I’m making a Missile Command clone where you try to destroy bases instead of defending them. The AI which fights you by actually defending the six bases is a bit rough but it works. I still haven’t added a winning condition and scores, but the game is actually playable.
