Room X(mas)

I’ve decided the title for my game is going to be something along the lines of “Room X(mas)”. Not sure if I’m actually going to be able to finish my game in time (chose to discard most of what I had and start over).

Anyways, here’s a quick image I’ve put together using some of the sprites from my game; hope you like it.

Santa, ready for take-off.

Merry soon-to-be Christmas everyone!

Thank you for LD34!

Time to say thank you all again, for all the feedback we received for our game!

We hope to be here April again. It’s our first LD and we had a lot of good time playing games. It was more fun than we expected to review games. We did our best to be valuable in our comments too (positives or negatives).
We did a making of too… well, kinda.

Here is a 3D rendered version of our 2D character (the background is a random picture we found on Google, we’re not into the 3D modeling, it was just for fun).kevin_the_snowman

And again: Happy New Year!

Santa goes to town… and died falling of a wall… too bad!

ESRB_AOI’m quite happy with what I have today. A playable game, with (poor) 3D isometric visuals, coded with the great Love2D framework.

The theme I stick is “Two button controls“, and I’m sure my control mode (mouse buttons used to rotate the character direction…) will make people mad!

The game is quite trash as the Santa is dying a lot! Not sure to get my ESRB rating under 18…

I will, today, continue to add some content and levels to reach 10 levels then polish the menu, and other stuffs.

Here are the first levels :

Merry Christmas everyone! I thought I’d take this opportunity to show you a screenshot of my LD game running on Android.

This is still an early version, but I’m hoping to make a full release on Android with many more levels. If you haven’t already played my entry, you can do so here.

I’ve finally done it! I’ve made a game in less than 48 hours! It’s done!

The entry post page, , is up and running and has the Windows and Mac OS X version working! The Mac version is not a .app but just a unix executable but it works nonetheless.

If you want to see a video of the game play as well, just look below:

I hope you enjoy this little game, and merry christmas from Ginger Bill (Ginger Games).

Been juggling a house Christmas party and coding my LD game on my Android tablet with a tiny keyboard. Problem is, I think I’m running out of things to code without bringing it all back together with Unity!

Still, I get the night to myself I guess, so full steam ahead!

The first time I entered “Ludum Dare” I had an accident the next day, a car broke my leg bones into many pieces, I was injured more than a year because of that.
During my time in the hospital I was making games with the iPad and a notebook, then I realised that Internet and games were too good for me to keep me away from the pain of my leg.
This year, I had not any intention of doing the october challenge, but one day my fathers came to my place to visit and have dinner, my father told me that one of his patients, a cancer child would like to have a game of reindeers, which it actually let you to name ,train and send it to give presents to all the children in the world…so, I decided to make his game, for free, not even 1$, where you can do all those things magically and where you also can leave a message of effort, peace or love to all those children who are living a life surrounded by that darkness-illness.
Here it is the video:

And the entry for the game

Forgotten Memories: Now with Red!

Everyone seems to be giving their Ludum Dare games a more Christmasy feel, and while it might be hard for me to say this unusually warm weather has me convinced the holiday truly is right around the corner, there’s a bandwagon, and I’m sure as hell going to jump on it.

Thus, I present to you Forgotten Memories: Limited Xmas Edition!

Do fractals more festive than these even exist? If they do, I haven’t seen them. There’s so much red and green up in this that it will melt your face off with Christmas spirit.

I seem to recall some sort of agreement to only spend five minutes on this upgrade, and adding “snow” would go over that. Sorry, but not every Christmas is a winter wonderland. Sometimes you look up at the sky, and it’s all cloudy, and you’re all “oh boy oh boy oh boy”, but then it doesn’t stay just quite cold enough, so you end up with some sort of slush that looks all sorts of ugly and threatens to kill you if you dare try to get on the roads before having dinner with the family, which I imagine is what having in-laws is like.

I wouldn’t know though. I’m all alone.

EDIT: Oh right. You know what helps? Actually linking the thing.
