I just fixed some bugs for my game (score not resetting, bad colliders, etc). Check out My Cup of Fury!

I am sorry if playing it is a painful experience.

Just in case if you’re playing the HTML5 (WebGL) build on itch.io, your keyboard controls won’t work once the game is done loading. You need to “activate” the area where the game is embedded by clicking on the “Unity WebGL” logo first or anywhere around there, then click on the game’s screen itself. Now you’ll be able to move around with the keyboard.

There are still some things that could be done (like audio, combat and more gameplay), but overall I’m happy I managed to get something (semi)-playable and have fun along the way. Here’s the result:

My game have so many bugs that i can’t find a way to resolve all of them in this short time.  I think i’m out of the compo :-( .

i aimed too much on a story focused game, and that takes a lot of time. my error.

I’m not sad (or not so much), i worked a lot this two days and was an incredible experience :-) i’ll try my best again the next time.

I say this because this is my first LD and as a person who works terribly under pressure I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish it. I shall try my best, though. I’ll be working solo either way but I’ll aim for the compo. If not, then the jam it is. Hopefully I will have something finished by the end of this.

Tools I will be using:
Programming: Game Maker: Studio.

Art: MS Paint(don’t you dare laugh (no pun intended)), GIMP.

Music: FL Studio.

SFX: Most likely Bfxr.

that was really hard work… but i finished it. Im so happy now <3

this time I focused more on the presentation, so the actual gameplay is not very complex.

its also very short… you can play through it in 2 minutes. but if you want more score you must play longer.

its a bit arcade like..

Yet Another “Yet another ‘I’m in’ post” Post

So, yeah — I’m in.

This is going to be my first Ludum Dare (yippi!), but I have participated in five GMC Jams (a 72-hour jam exclusively for GameMaker games) before. Actually, the reason I decided to do my first LD this weekend, is that I missed the last GMC Jam. (I was in the UK on vacation)

 

Sooo…. I’ll probably do the compo (48-hours), because I won’t have much time on Monday, anyway (school) and if my game’s not even close to “done” or “playable”, I’ll get an extra day! (you can do like that, right? )

 

If you’ve read this post carefully, you’ll probably have guessed I’m gonna use GameMaker. More precisely, GameMaker: Studio. I’ll only compile for Windows — the only other export I can use is for Mac, but you need a Mac computer to complete the build process, which I don’t have.

Other tools I’m likely to use are:

  • Aseprite (for not-so-very-good pixel art)
  • CGmusic (procedurally generated music)
  • BFXR (blip and blops)
  • Some particles designer for GameMaker (I want to use more particles than usually this jam, because I’ve rarely used them in games before)

I have no idea what libraries or scripts I’ll use. Probably, I won’t use any at all.

– Controls : camera improvements and strafing available

– Gameplay : some ice will gradually spawn and surface to let you survive longer

– Graphics : add anti-aliasing & bloom effect !
