Prism Break

by sleazywizard - Mini LD Entry

A vertical shooter where you match colors to set off chain explosions.

CONTROLS
Move: WASD or Arrow Keys
Chroma bullet: Left Mouse or G
The chambered Chroma bullet is shown in your ship color
Detonator: Right Mouse or H

ENEMIES
Hitting an enemy with a Chroma bullet changes enemy color
Only colored enemies will attack
Shooting any colored enemy with a Detonator makes it explode
Explosions detonate same-color enemies nearby

SCORING
Bigger combos with the Detonator mean higher score multipliers
Try to set up the largest color combo before you Detonate
TIP: Use enemy movement patterns to your advantage

SHIELDS
Your shield can absorb 3 shots from enemy fire
A 4th hit will end the game

I liked it, the mechanic of them only attacking when coloured and chaining for higher score is a nice risk reward thing. The 2.5d thing was ok too, the background 3d ships added a bit of visual interest. I was disappointed the music didn't loop. When the enemy movement goes jittery, that seemed a bit strange.

It's a good game, I find it very enjoyable. I's nice that you can shoot with the mouse buttons, however I wish there was an option to adjust the sfx and music levels.

Nice idea! The background is nice and the game mechanic is excellent. However, after a pretty poor first run the game now only spawns three ships when I replay it! Weird error state, I've reinstalled it but the same happens. I'll try to reboot later and see if that fixes it.

Thanks! We're working on fixing the issues you guys have run into. Can our high scores please be displayed on the main high score page? Thanks
