I am glad to see your submission but you should consider using a more polished/newer engine next time.
I am using Windows 10 and had to download the dx8vb.dll file and then register it through the cmd (regsvr32 "path") in order to be able to play.

Thanks @KloudRazor for the advice! I will definitely look into a newer engine next game! Btw could you tell me how the game was itself? Thanks!

I'm afraid I'm also on Win10, however I'm not tech-savvy enough to know how to register that file to make it playable. Perhaps if you rebuilt it in Unity, it'd be more accessible. The screenshots look very good, but i'm afraid I can't help you further. Unity probably supports the language you write in.

Well I'll be honest with you and tell you how it went. After I patched the game I opened it, kind of skipped the introduction text and started wandering. Picked up some rocks, finally figured out that I had to go to the Equipment tab to equip the weapon. Found a huge bug that killed me and that was it.

I just opened it again to be able to give you more feedback and this is what I found:

*The menu should work by just clicking on buttons like always because the current system is very clunky/hard to navigate. Also, the Items and Equipment tabs could be merged somehow for easier access to items (like in Minecraft).

*I am sorry I couldn't play some more but I just don't have the patience to invest time into a complex game with no objective. As a result most of my feedback is negative and focuses on the beginning of the game.

*The graphics were good - no weird colors/contrasts, just pleasant.

*Even in the second playthrough I couldn't find the damn colony. I wandered around for 5 minutes in the snow biome and couldn't find it. The player should figure out where to go without a textbox telling him. You could use a path or a bug that runs to the city and the player can follow or something like that. Think about how Skyrim starts for example.

*I hate those damn non-interactive rocks! Make the interactive items get highlighted on mouse hover or something so that the player know he can interact with it.

*There was an issue with font rendering for me. Some artifacts showing up near characters.

*In the first playthrough I though the player healthbar was a radar. A Diablo style sphere would do better here (where it gets filled from the bottom up) as it would be much clearer what role it has. I would prefer it to be solid.

*I have no idea what is the role of jumping since I haven't played long.

@Linkeagle

Google "DX8VB.dll", download it and add it to the game folder. Then open up Command Prompt in Administrator Mode (by right-clicking the Start Button) and type regsvr32 path. A message should pop up saying it registered successfully.

Example: regsvr32 "C:\NoMansLand\DX8VB.dll"

Kloudrazor thank you for your feedback! To find the colony you must go beyond the snow biome, just walk to the edge and it takes you to the snow map, and yes, I do need to work on the inventory system alot.

I have an update for it that includes some fixes on the HUD and some added stuff. I don't know if I am allowed to update the game.

@KloudRazor Also do you think if I released it as an installer instead of zip would it work better do you think?
(I am new to programming)

@jangofett2014 I have no idea, you can put links to both versions (zip and installer) and wait for feedback.
