by micsandbricks - Mini LD 69 Entry

A suspenseful side-scroller where the player must guide a simian space-traveller across the treacherous vastness of space in search of arable land on which to plant the colonization flag, all the while avoiding asteroids.

Made using Godot Engine and Pyxel Edit, as well as the font VT323 made by Peter Hull and used under the SIL Open Font License, 1.1.

My first contribution to the LD-community. Enjoy! :)

I really love the sprites
It's a little repetitive but I like it anyway!
I hope see your pixel art in next LD!

After 60 seconds, the whole screen was cluttered with asteroids with no way to go through :D

@qporest Haha, you're totally right. I'm gonna play it off as a metaphor for the unforgiving challenge of space travel rather than a bug. ;)

Is the little fella going to plant his flag in any of those promising chunks of rock? :-P

I love the shading on the asteroids. I didn't like the part where about 30 thousand of them spawned at once. I think the game would be more interesting if the asteroids moved at different speeds.

61s! :)

I like the monkey sprite a lot. Also the slide-in on the title menu was a nice touch. Instead of text about clicking to go back to the main menu I'd just put a back button or something to be more succinct, although without a back button it's actually easier because you can click anywhere, so that's probably what you were going for. :)

The description did suggest there was an end, but maybe that's what makes it suspenseful :)

I like the monkey graphic! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the MiniLD 69 games, if you’d like to take a look :)
