by CyberStarLight - MiniLD 67 Entry

Use Full screen for the web version, for some reason it doesn't fit. Also the windows version looks/sounds a bit better.

My first Ludum dare entry ever, thanks for trying it out!
(Please Please Please, leave criticism/feedback)

I chose to combine games not listed in the original rules, I hope that's o.k,
the games mashed are:
- Invaders
- Tetris
- Breakout

I made everything myself, including music, sounds, 3d models.
(I do apologize ahead of time for the awful music, it's my first attempt at making one.)

IMPORTANT! : Read the "How to play" first. this games has a lot of keys and mechanics!

Shoot the enemies down to make them fall, then arrange them in rows. Your gun cost you energy to shoot, you can gain more energy by hitting enemies with your

- Use WASD/arrows to move
- Left Mouse to shoot, right mouse for breakout, middle mouse for mines.
- Scroll up to catch & manipulate pieces, scroll down to pull them down.
Rotate/Flip using the Left/Right/middle mouse buttons after catching.
- Press space to switch between 2D/3D Perspective.

Aim: Fill 10 green rows to win! Have fun! ^^

Music sounds nice, Graphics are simple but don't hold back the gameplay which is nice,I generally didn't use 3D view as I didn't feel the shots aligned where I wanted them to be. A few bugs I noticed was that firstly, enemies would overlap/spawn where a block was and secondly, if you were placing a block and some of it was outside of row, those blocks would get deleted. Overall, this is a really interesting game as the concepts tie into each other smoothly to create interesting gameplay

Interesting idea and nice music!

Odst, thank you very much for the comments!
The disappearing blocks are intentional, it looks "cleaner" without blocks sticking to the sides.

I was aware of the overlapping/spawning problem, I'm just not sure how to make it better considering the limited space, I will be happy for suggestions :)

Awesome idea... aweful music.. sorry, really not my taste :D

But seriously a good job on the gameplay.
The game seems a bit overloaded at first, since you have to manage basically 3 games at once. But if there would be a progression by beating several levels which teach the player each of the mechanics, I think it could really work out. (don't worry i wouldn't have expected that from anyone during the jam... just a note how the game would feel more "complete")

McMutton, separating the mechanics for the tutorial levels is a great idea, I will hopefully do that when I'm back to working on this game.

and don't worry about the music, I agree, but I set a goal of doing everything myself this time, including the music, this is the result XD

Quite a lot going on, but once I got the hang of it is was actually great to play, nice work.

The 2D view works a lot better that the 3D view, and I tend not to read the instrutions before I play :D, so I was pretty overwhelmed with all that was going on. I like the idea, I hope you improve it later on.

And I'm here again:

Even though you obviously tell the player to control the ship with the keyboard, my intuition is to move it with the mouse since basically EVERYTHING else is bound to the mouse. ^^
And I'm still missing the button to disable the music. :P

Haha this game is cool, it took me a while to realise that this game is a mash up of pong space invaders AND tetris. Really neat idea! I think the ship should be controlled by the mouse. Good graphics, and good music :D really easy to get into :D

Impressive entry! A great mashup, it feels like it was made with a lot of love and dedication. At first the game rules are a bit overwhelming, but everything fits together pretty well making it very fun once you get the hang of it!

My main suggestion would be to turn the "rule book" into an interactive in-game tutorial: first you would explain how to move and shoot, then once the player killed an enemy swap the message to explain how to grab/rotate/release the blocks, then once it's done explain the goal of the game, and just explain how to gain energy/health back it's low. It would make the game much more easy to grasp I think!

Also like the other ones I ended up playing exclusively in 2D view, maybe some lines to indicate columns would have helped make the 3D one more confortable.

Excellent entry overall, I'm especially impressed by the variety of enemies and how you took the time to make nice menus and all :)

this is actually really cool, yeah.

@Wan Thank you very much for the input!
I like your idea with adding column lines to the 3D view, it's really hard to aim in that perspective.
