Hecate Excite

by Jordan - Mini LD 60 Entry

Hecate Excite is a game made in about 12 hours for the Mini Ludum Dare #60 game development competition. Yes, I started very late.

You were knighted as Count Adam, who challenged himself to take on several fast-paced battles with a wide variety of opponents in bizarre locations full of puns. There is a trick, which is to hold the initial button down as long as you can before the level starts, which makes the level easier.

All programming was done by one person, and art done separately by another. All assets/code were made within the period of about 12 hours on June 28th.

Languages/tools used: Java, LWJGL, Slick2D, Gimp, Debian

A simple neat idea for 10 seconds theme. And good jokes B). The ones on my game were not cool. 2 things can fixed. Hitboxes being on feet and some enemies got out of screen sometimes (It might be about my resolution idk.). But yeah in 12 hours it is a good result. Keep it up!

Fits the theme of 10 seconds in every respect; From the loading screen to the actual gameplay.
What would be cool is if each level loadign screen had a little minigame and depending on your score, it would affect how many enemies spawn. Obviously that would be quite complicated but if you could do it it would be the awesome-est thing man! I like it though. ;3.

Interesting concept, great use of theme, though I didnt know if I won or if I died... I included your game in part 4 of my MiniLD #60 compilation video series, if you would like to check it out :)

It displays a message before going to the menu when you win, but I probably should have put one for when you lose as well.

As for the video, I loved it!
