by Sri Harsha Chilakapati - Mini LD 58 Entry

SurvivorPong is my attempt at remaking Pong by adding a bit of challenge. The idea is you have to stop a deer from running into leopards which are hiding under leaves, and the score is how much time you can survive. The controls are W/S or the arrows, or both if you are a weird wizardo on a keyboard.

The other keys are SPACE which is used to move between screens and F1 switches between the Fullscreen and Windowed modes. There is also a hidden control D which enables debug drawing, and it draws all the collision masks for the characters. I used it when tweaking the collision masks, but I'm also leaving it in game so anyone can give me better feedback if any collision related issue is spotted.

There is small issue for Mac users. If you want the game to run, please run the game with the command line option -XstartOnFirstThread. Otherwise LWJGL 3 won't start and throws an exception.

Also the game needs a GPU which supports OpenGL 3.3 or higher, and Java 8 runtime. By the way, this is just my second real game, so please give me constructive criticism if I have done anything in a wrong way.

Cute game, I enjoyed saving the dear, though he was a bit lonely :) Maybe adding baby deer over time would be fun to add. I included it in part 20 of my Mini LD #58 compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :)

Thanks a lot! You're the first YouTuber to play my game. I'll improvise it once I complete my LD32 compo entry.
