To Build a Base

by LukeZaz - Mini LD 53 Entry

Controls are listed at the page.

A game that was supposed to be about going to space, but didn't make it there due to time constraints. We were relatively inexperienced with Unity and weren't able to finish everything in time and honestly had trouble even making lose conditions and scoring in time. Heck, even the name was made up on the spot.

Oh well, experience is valuable and hopefully someone'll get a kick out of this. With any luck we'll be able to make something good post-compo.

Actually not quite sure what to do here. Also, 1 and 2 on the numblock are not there on notebook-computers. Instructions?

@yodamaster

Controls and instructions should both be on the page. In short, enemies spawn in ever-increasing numbers and you gotta not die. You can kill enemies with Spike blocks (Numpad 2).

As for numpad keys, I'm aware of that mistake, however I don't believe I can remedy it outside of a post-compo version.

Thanks for playing!

Nice prototype you have there :)
It is very funny when you stay close to a certain enemy group and just walk in circles around them and wait for the group to get bigger and you get a RED TOWER OF DEATH!!!

@Flattened tesseract games

Oooh, you should have seen them before we fixed them up. It was funny.

In fact, we're probably going to include a way to break everything all over again in the post-compo for added hilarity.

Thanks for playing.

I actually had some fun playing this game, The main reason was me just placing the spike blocks as far across as possible and then hiding behind them like a noob. I do thing this needs a little MORE time in the oven,(Meaning It needs work) but all that aside it was enjoyable. Though The spike blocks were a little but O.P because if you stack upwards, the enemy's just run into them and die but like I said more time in the oven. I hope this comment didn't offend you in any way but I sincerely apologize if it did.

@LushLight

I see no reason why your comment would offend me - you complimented our 1/4-finished attempted game! I'm surprised you liked it as much as you did.

As for 'more time in the oven' - it's definitely getting that. We're still working on it in and will be pushing out a post-compo version sometime that should see major improvements across the board.

Thank you for playing!

You really need to disable the context menu if right click is a control. It's just something you change in your html file (check the Unity docs). And keep the mouse centered too.

I'm assuming the original idea was to keep building up and into space. That's a cool concept, and I wish you were able to have a more complete version.

@wheelsx

I'll definitely do that. Thanks for letting me know. The mouse should also be centered, but I guess I'll need to double-check.

Lastly as I've mentioned before there will be a much bigger post-compo version that I'll post here once it's complete. It's already in the works and there's plenty more that's been done.

Thanks for playing!
