I look forward to when you take this! Very cute so far.
Now attack/shield actually work now! Also there is a little bit of a story and an end if you get through the two tests.
Nice little game you got there. Didn't managed to go through it (I'm at work so can't put too much focus on playin). Might try again tonight.
One thing is the collision/hit boxes. They are off which makes the game more difficult. Also never managed to hit a slime while jumping (they are always at the edge of a platform).
Graphically it's very nice but I missed a walk animation for Xelda. Oh and nice music!
Very pretty, and the music is pretty good. It felt a bit challenging at first, but the generous health drops when killing enemies stopped it from being too hard.
It would have been great if it were longer or had an end boss or something, but that's asking a lot given the time limit. Very good "Legend of Zelda" demake, and made me a bit nostalgic.
Thanks for playing! At first i wanted to make the sceleton an boss enemy, but... now he only jumps.
@Dir3kt
Actually you cant hurt the slimes while they are electrically charged - in the real 'Legend of Zelda' games you even get hurt if you try. Sorry i didnt say that ingame.
Oh and there are no hit boxes :) only hit circles. If you press [Enter], you can see the collision system at work. And i dont think there are any bugs with that. On the other hand the 'standing on ground' is not perfect, because you can 'stand' half a tile above or below the ground. I didnt fix that, because it has no effect on gameplay.
And you dont play XELDA, you play... er... RINK?
This is a nice one... Love the style so much... There are some obstacles you definitely get hurt of an enemy... Great that you made it with html5... wich framework are you using?
@psychomonster
I did not mention any framework, because i did not use any framework. :)
For loading a map from Tiled to js I googled and then used parts of following code: ( http://hashrocket.com/blog/posts/using-tiled-and-canvas-to-render-game-screens ). The rest of the code I wrote myself, so you could say HTML5 is my framework. You can read the source in your browser through the web console (FF: [CTRL+SHIFT+K] -> Debugger, Chrome:[CTRL+SHIFT+I] -> Sources) - it is a single html file with 494 lines. But be warned: I didnt programm for readability during the MiniLD :)
'Love the style' Thanks :D

pretty difficult with the slidey movement, and attack/sheild doesn't seem to do anything. Nice graphics, and cool song, even tho it didn't play automatically. Good job for 6 hours.
:)
