Dark Moles

by ryuoka - Mini LD 50 Entry

Holy moly... no really, there's moles in this game. After all, it is called Dark Moles.

Dark Moles is a 2D demake of Dark Souls, where you can experience the repeated soul-crushing defeat of Dark Souls, but instead of a titanic monster, you're fighting a giant mole (yay!).

Who doesn't love moles, after all! Well, you might not after being repeatedly smacked around by one. All the frustration of Dark Souls plus a healthy helping of moley goodness.

See if you can unlock the bonus level c:

Controls:

Movement: WASD/Arrow Keys
Attack: Ctrl/Left Click
Jump: Space
Special Attack: ???

This is my first completed game/first Ludum Dare entry, so feedback is greatly appreciated! Was pretty much within the 48 hours, plus the time to configure my server to handle Unity's mimetype properly T_T

All sprites, sounds and gameplay were created by me, with the exception a few lovely CC0 assets (music and fonts respectively) courtesy of Sudocolon (http://opengameart.org/users/sudocolon) and Kenney (http://kenney.nl).
Much love to these two dudes.
Also my mole may somewhat resemble a certain Pokemon because I couldn't find a good reference and I suck at pixel art anyways.

Apologies if it loads slowly, it ended up being fairly large (32mb) D:

As much as I wanted to try it, it doesn't work :( Too bad!

It worked for me on a Windows/Firefox setup. The setup was a bit slow, but it worked. The first and only mole I encountered rocked me. So I tried a few more times and couldn't avoid taking damage so I quit BIG!

Great graphics, and the music is excellent. The concept got a giggle from me. Not a lot of gameplay, though, and there's no way in hell I could defeat that... that *thing*. Especially since I don't seem able to gauge when I need to jump.

Cool, though.
