Platforms and facade

by Caridorc - Mini LD 48 Entry

This is a minimalistic 2D platform game.
The first level is very classic,
but starting from level 2 the facade (the appearence) of the game will change.

Controls:
Left/Right arrow keys to go left right.
spacebar to jump.
M to return to menu

Known bugs:
-When the gravity is reversed don't long press spacebar, it may cause a bug.

-The arrow keys in the level selecting screens are tricky to press

This is a beta version.

I get confused all the time in the level with high gravity and transparent platforms. :D

There's a bug with the reversed gravity levels. When you reach the bottom area of the game window you will "fall" out of the window and die

and the second one where the black boxes hide the underlying colored boxes, there's another bug(?) when you cross the finish line. I always fall thru the ground and die.

But I like the game. Cool how every level has a new game mechanic :)

to nyrrrr:
In the reversed gravity levels I already knew that there is a bug.
Please, can you explain again your problems with the level 2?
In my opinion it works just fine.

That was fun. There were a few "leap-of-faith" situations (where you don't see the platform you need to jump/drop to), but other than that a great minimalistic entry.

Nice! I agree with exoticorn, but other than that I loved it. Great job!

Sorry for the 'leaps-of-faith' but as I am the developer I exactly knew the position of the platform and I exactly knew when to jump-drop.
P.S. Thank for the feedback

i appreciate the use of variable jumping. Very good use of the theme too. I thought the game was deceiving me when it said "This level is just like the first". But it didn't (SORRY THAT WAS SPOILERS). So while I had that anxiety, it never tricked me!

Minimalistic and nice. I think though, that for example the level(s) with states such as gravity switches could have used some ques about which it was a present. Will be hard enough. The jumping to see how high you can jump is a little annoying. The camera shake when dying was really nice, and the only transparent floors great. Would really like to see where you take this!

The controls were nice, and I'm quite impressed with the number of levels. The falling ball is a nice mechanic. It doesn't really stand out from other platformers with simplistic art, but it's not bad in any way, either.

A couple of typoes and spelling mistakes in the in-game instructions (for example, I can't figure out what "blitting" is supposed to be). Just something to fix for the finished version.
