Granola Burger

by Guennor - Mini LD 48 Entry

This is my incomplete submission. I'm uploading it like this because I really have to sleep, I gotta go to work tomorrow morning! haha
I'll try to make a post-jam version of it whenever I have time :)

Plot:
Humankind has been enslaved and forced to work as fast food employees in giant spaceships. One day, you manage to escape. Armed with one of the famous burgers from your fast food franchise, the GRANOLA BURGER, you go through the ship trying to hide and disguise yourself as the many species that habit the ship, so you can make your way to the overlord's hall, and put an end to his rule!

Controls:
WASD to move. Enter to choose the options on the menu screen.

**IMPORTANT**
Hey guys. The post-jam version is ALSO incomplete! But it's "less incomplete" than the version I did on the 48 hours of the jam. I'll keep updating the post-jam version when I find some time.

I'll add a change log here to document the changes I make.
-Jan. 12 - Jam version. Really incomplete.
-Jan. 13 - First post-jam version. Now with music, and a cooler intro
-Mar. 27 - Finally fixed the graphics problem. It's still a little glitchy though. I'm officially dropping production, I just fixed the graphics because it annoyed me that I didn't notice it and it's something that was really easy to do.

Played the post-jam as I don't think there's any point in the miniLD#48 to be picky about the 48h limit. Just there to make us make the game. Anyhow, I like the graphics and the way the character moved. Wasn't sure if there was anything I could do other than to walk around and look at the rooms. You could set a timer on the "this is not complete" so it removes itself after a short while.

Post-Compo is really sounding groovy! :) There isn't really a lot to do at the moment (or I didn't get it...), but I fully understand your desire to sleep! ;)

The post-jam entry is less incomplete then the jam entry... I'll keep updating it, but there's A LOT to be done in the game.

Very awesome graphics (yeah, pixel art ftw) ;D I really like the way you go through rooms, very creative :) Maybe if you could "do anything" it would make the game more fun :P nice music btw ;)

@SK16Games yeah man, thanks! I'm trying to find some time to mess with the code a little. The next thing i'm gonna do is add all the NPCs and start working on the interaction with them. I started working on a game company last week and things are really tough for me these days, I can't find any time to focus on this particular jam of mine.
But thanks for the compliment. Your game looked great as well!

(comments based on post-jam version)

Great plot and concept (third-person adventure-ish games are fairly rare), good graphics, and the intro music is excellent. Shame there isn't a lot of gameplay so far.

I really hope you go ahead and finish this. It looks like it could be awesome.

@Christina Nordlander wow man, thank you very much!
I've been quite busy these times. I started working so I can't properly manage the things I gotta do in my free time. After wasting hours coding something that didn't work (a background music that changes smoothly depending on where you are on the spaceship), I really was giving up this project. But after seeing your comment and realizing that still some (very few) people still check my submission out, I tried to keep programming the game. I tried to make the basic behavior of enemies, but I got stuck in the most simple thing: making the enemy patrol left and right properly, waiting for a second or two between walk cycles. Anyway, at least it's good for me to train my basic programming skills. Whenever I make a new build i'll let you guys know.
Thanks again!
