Here it is! My second game for LD.
The idea is to control squads of max 9 units to destroy enemy base. You can hire new units or create custom squads if you have enough gold, which you gain by killing enemy units. The enemy squads will continuously rush you.
Controls:
- Hold right mouse button to drag the camera
- "A" - Select/deselect all squads
- "LCTRL" - Invert selection
- Drag and select squads
- Hold LSHIFT while selecting to add squads to selection
- Click anywhere on ground to open Move/Attack/Abort menu
Tips:
- Squad icons turn red when entering combat mode. Click on it to focus on that squad
- Click on your base's icon to create a new squad
Tools used:
-LibGDX
-LOFI sprites
-sfxr
Feedback is appreciated!

Looks nice and it's well put together overall. I struggled a bit with the control scheme, but I still enjoyed playing.
The graphics look amazing. Unfortunately I felt like the gameplay was ruined by the inability of your squads to automatically defend your base. How am I supposed to go attack the enemy if I can't leave my squads behind defending?
Oh, you're right. They should have a mode for auto-attack or something, like enemies have zerg (attack base) and defend (attack squad on sight) mode. The AI was a pain to code already so I forgot about that.
Awesome game! But with auto-attack feature and simpler walking/attack controls it would be more comfortable. And graphics looks really great!
yeah, i love the setting and the sprite art, but i found it frustrating that my units just let enemies pass through without question. and when i actually did tell them to attack the enemy, they just stood there?
FYI, when I double-click this to open it on a Mac, it gives an error, but if I run it from the command line with "java -jar 'Kinghts & Arrow.jar'", it runs fine.
Why does the enemy get so many more squads than I do? This was really hard! Amazing graphics, especially the shadows as others have noted. It's cool to see a Java entry--I'll have to check out libGDX.
Graphics are lovely. Best ones i have seen so far thx to those light and shadow effects. Really good game :D
As other people stated, it's true that ai could be better but it's understandable due to the timeline given to finish a full game :)
The lighting and graphics are awesome but the AI can be better. However, good job!
Fun game. Lighting was cool, but a bit brought down by the sprites.
Would it be possible to add a much needed auto attack feature later?
Apart from that I agree that the lighting and graphics are really good. Its fun to play as well.
I'll definitely add auto attack feature and some AI improvements if I choose to work on this project later. Thanks for all the comments!
Another libgdx game! Interesting mix of pixel art and pixel perfect lighting ... still don't know if I am a fan of it ;) Controls could see improvement, nothing to add here :) A lot of fun anyway :)
! love the soft shadows and the particle effects where Cool! Knights seemed pretty useless with the current controls. Unfoucutenty it kept crashing on me especialy when I was getting better and had like 4+ squads. win7 machine 24gb ram
