Cherrys To Cherrys: CompEdition

Cherrys To Cherrys is an RTS themed by the concept of cherry warfare. The beginning may throw you off if you are expecting traditional RTS games. You gather your resources before to begin war, you do this by collecting cherries for a minute then you may start war and get cherry tax funding which means your resources are doubled the amount you collected. Soldiers are hired via clicking the tower after you select it. The cannon is used for taking out enemy transportation. It costs a cherry to submerge a unit into water, and to shoot the cannon. Do not run out of cherrys, defeat the enemy's tower to win.

Controls: They are all listed in the Main Menu except for:
-mouse to pan
-right-click+mouse to pan faster
-left-click shoots cannon if it is selected

Now the game itself is at it's earliest stage of release: "CompEdition" does not mean the game is unfinished, technically the basis of the game is there, just not all the content I'd want is in there. Also, the hp stacking system is still in rough development. I conked out all of the errors it gave me so at least the code is good but it's still not the prettiest, u might see some visual hiccups.

Known Major Bugs:
-Pause Menu is not functional(which is weird because it works in the engine)

*Update: Enemies should be attacking your base;last minute bug fix*

I'm not a fan of the cherry collecting mini game. I was totally lost on what to do with the cannon.

The cannon shoots enemies that are in water u can hold down the LMB for a couple seconds to shoot a bit farther

Good work on getting the basics in, but I think this game could have been helped immensely by making everything 10x faster.

From a design standpoint, since resources are effectively fixed at the start, it may have made more sense to skip the cherry picking aspect and focus on the battles, maybe having cherries trees on the landscape to harvest, etc.

The resources are actually determined by the cherry picking level "cherry tax funding which means your resources are doubled the amount you collected."

But the whole concept was an experiment and i originally wanted the cherry picking to be re-accessible during real-time gameplay and have the ability to exit by choice but that change due to already starting the mechanics before i figured out id have to make major changes to everything in order for that level to be re-accessible it was futile.

A great start. The controls are a not intuitive at first. I was a little confused with the initial apple game. Maybe if the home base was carved into a large tree or something, and when you placed it as the first structure you go into that resource collecting mini game. It would have some kind of context that way. Cant wait to see what this becomes!

I think the cherry collection in the begining is a nice way to start a battle, which was too slow paced though.

Funny game, a bit slow though. I didn't know what to do with the cannon since it was still firing in the water :/

It's uh supposed to shoot in the water. You shoot enemies that are in water. Hold the LMB down for a second or two to shoot a little farther than just clicking though.

The game its fine. A bit slow on movements maybe. Also the water 3d effect its really cool, but it was weird to start with the cherrys minigame xD

I like the idea of a mini game recorse gathering section... but wished there was some warning, It was really frustrating to later realize I Missed some cherries. Really cool use used Unity! I never saw any enemies to shoot with the cannon but I liked the idea of using resources as weapons.. Glad you thought out of the box wished there was more game to it.

Nice idea. Collecting resources is a nice way to combine different mini games with rts.

The controls could be improved. It would be easier to deselect by left clicking an empty place, instead of clicking the right button.
