Manifest Destiny: Masters of the New World
A real-time strategy game developed in Unity for MiniLD 44 aka 7DRTS
## Game Objective ##
The basic objective of Manifest Destiny is to build a chain of settlements from a starting town on the east coast all the way to the west coast. This is done by building up your population and marching them across the harsh new world, competing for territory with natives and opposing nations every step of the way.

Thanks for playing, and I totally agree. The balancing is pretty messed up in its current state.
I think you win the award for most beautiful title screen.
Game mechanics were interesting. It was way better to attack than to defend. It was boring holding down right click for so long. I wish I could have just turned it on and waited instead of holding my finger on the button for so long.
It was fun though! I like the hopping animation as they travel to the next settlement. I won on the 2nd try.

Unique game mechanic, but just holding down the right button gets really boring, especially on the harder routes.
Crashed when changing the resolution from the default to 1920x1080.
Apologies for that. My monitor is 1600x900, and it seems to work at all resolutions at or below that.
Really great concept and the tri-resource system was very cool. I found myself immediately engrossed. Title menu and UI in general was very nice as well.
Great entry ! I take a moment to understand but after I get fun ! And I like the unniverse !
Pretty fun, but having to hold down the right button to produce soldiers forever was really boring. It's literally impossible to spend all your food, especially for more than one city. Make production faster, or at least add some sort of rallying system.
The starting quotes being in each nation's native tongue was nice (Ära till Sverige!), the main menu and music was cool, but I was a bit bugged by the English flag being all red (Might have been supposed to be that way, but I don't know all too much about English history)
I especially like how the more a path is traveled the easier it becomes
I had one post that glitched and stuck at 400 settlers and let me extrude and infinite amount of them somehow i was still easily owned by the AI's ability to take out my settlers so fast, and I couldn't figure out how to get more soldiers
@calzep: There's a cap in place where they'll only automatically generate settlers up until the total population of soldiers + settlers is 400. You can turn food or settlers into soldiers by clicking on the green or blue stack and then right click and hold on the red stack.
A few things about this game: You need some indication for when the enemies are attacking you: I lost two settlements and didn't even realize it. Also, if you could add in diplomacy, and a way to see places that you don't have a direct connection to, even if it's just a number above a place saying "Has X connections", it would be nice. Or just fog to show that we don't know what's there yet.
This was amazing. Really liked the path difficulty idea. The graphics and overall production quality with the GUI and sound felt great. Fun and interesting!
Nice entry indeed :D
Good graphics, good music and sound and hard game ^^

That was awesome! My only gripe with it was sometimes very small armies would demolish my entire settlement of soldiers.
