In the year 30XX...

Earth teters on the brink of total destruction after the nano-nuclear combat of World War X.

Vowing to never again put the entire human race at risk over conflict, the global superpowers

form a council known as the International Superpeace Alliance. The council's first order of

business is to outlaw all forms of combat on Earth. A piece of legislation known as the World

Peace Act is signed. Soon, peace is restored.

Or so it seems....

A second Act, created in secret, is also signed. Known as the Tankbox Act, all global

superpowers agree that every conflict and disagreement will be decided in an arena known

only as the TANKBOX. In order to protect the public from the truth, TANKBOX is promoted as a

gameshow. Contestants, called TANKBOXERS, battle to the death in tanks for cash prizes. The

drama of live deathmatches proves extremely popular with the now peaceful populus, and the

show quickly becomes a global phenomenon.

Little do they know how much is on the line...

TankBox 30XX is a top down, twin stick shooter game about tanks. Left stick controls tank movement and right stick aims the turret. There are 3 tanks to choose from: a tank with a standard cannon, a tank with a chaingun, and a shotgun tank(yes I said that). The game supports up to 4 players on one screen, and has full Xbox 360 controller support! First player is always keyboard, and players 2-4 are the joysticks. Have fun!
This was my first ever 3D game and my first game using unity and I had a blast making it.

Design ideas - Max Osta
Models and Textures - Luis Millotte
Level Design - Maxime Preaux
Programming and everything else - Zach Lowrance

First to 10 kills wins, if you fall off the level you will lose a kill. Have fun!

UPDATE: Added Web Player link and MAC and Linux download links.

UPDATE 2: Had to reupload because there was a major glitch with the camera system. All builds were affected.

UPDATE 3: I have started adding to this project and am considering continuing it. Here is the link to the updated web version:

UPDATE 4: Updated web link now appears at top of screen. Implemented more effects and a very basic combo system. You enter combos utilizing the number keys on keyboard (1-4) and the face buttons on controllers. For now you will just have to experiment and figure out the combos for yourself :D, later on there will be and ingame menu similar to a fighting game. Next we will be tackling better and more final levels + getting some actual cartoony textures made for those instead of the stock textures we are using now. We will also be looking at ingame UI design and hopefully implement something more final very soon.

I guess this is okay. The level design is genius for sure.

A solid effort for your first game made in Unity. Decently fun playing with a couple of people.

I feel like this will become a really fun game. With a little polish to the controls and camera it would feel pretty good. The effects and graphics, like the toon fire, are a nice touch. Also, good level design.

No strategy elements, multiplayer only and tiny levels. Not entirely sure why you submitted this? Good for a first 3D game, but I don't see the point of submitting it to 7DRTS.

We started out with and RTS but our shooter roots soon overcame that desire and we ended up with this. IMO game jams are just about actually getting up and making something, on theme or not, which is what we did. Thanks for your input though.

There is xbox 360 controller support for up to 4 players! First player is always keyboard, but players 2-4 are xbox 360 controllers. You can have any configuration of players(i.e. player 1 does NOT have to be playing for the game to run). Only select tanks for the player slots you want to use and go to it!

Oh, really nice ^^
Love the graphics style. Collisions and physics sometimes works weird, but other than that its a nice 3d game ^^
