TrashScape

Trash scape is a real-time city builder based in a world where the earth has become inhospitable for human life.

The game is designed so the player can build their dream sky city, whether it is a slum, or a pristine city with a full power grid.

In order to create the perfect city the player will need to build power routes, construct farms and trade with merchants and slavers.

***How to play**

In order to get more resources you can do a few things, most of which require a power plant.

By powering a factory you can create more scrap equal to the amount of houses with power around it. You can power buildings by either connecting them straight to a power plant or connecting a generator with power.

Normal houses with power can also transfer power around to other buildings. This allows you to create complex power lines in order to save on resources.

You must also create food to feed your people. To do this build some farms and have a powered windmill near them.

Holding space will show which buildings have power and the effect radius of other buildings.


Game may have a lot of bugs.

Any video play-through for the curious Linux users in the audience?

I've been waiting expectantly since your update posts have really whetted my appetite. Autopsy and explanations of how its technically built will be super cool too.

Hey Will, Unfortunatly unity was crashing every time I tried to export to web,linux or mac osx. Sorry about that.

Wow great mood and execution. Really creative setting for a such a game. Would be nice if the day/night cycle didn't make it quite so dark, was hard to see at night. Also the GUI might want to add some wording or larger icons to make the actions more clear, was a bit tricky to get a hang of. I cant wait to see where this goes!

Very interesting game. I like the idea a lot, and will follow your progress. I did find that by laying cables constantly I was able to go into negative scrap indefinitely(well, until my population died due to neglect). Good take on the theme, it was a cool change of pace.

can't get right click to open build menu :( it really really cool I love the over all vibe and difrent take on the thing and I like the events even though they kill me every time

Concept its nice, but i couldnt find the way to play it without issues :/ Most of the times ended building stuff on the pipe. Also, night needs some lightning, but the shadow effect on sunset was really cool.

Wow really love the mood and the out of the box idea. the bugs hurt the fun factor and made it basicly unplayable. BUt I'm most awaiting future versions! I loved the lighting was perfect on my monitor.

I loved the mood and the way the music added to the whole experience. Unfortunately it was difficult to play because I wasn't sure what each thing did or how it made a difference to the town. I think that some simple explanation of what the different buildings do would make it much more playable.

Also, are powered buildings red or blue?

This is really really promising. I loved the atmosphere and overall setting. If only there were better instructions. I think the easiest and fastest thing to do is to add a tooltip to the build items explaining what they do. Because even if you have all build once you have no idea what to do :/
