Radar Defence

by RadthorDax - Mini LD Entry

Make sure you give it time to load. About 10-30 seconds depending on your connection speed.

Firefox and IE take exception to some of my preloading code, so to get it to work, you should run it in Chrome. I haven't tested Opera or Safari yet.

It isn't quite finished yet, as I had an unexpected family visit earlier, which ate up about 6 hours of time in which I was going to be coding. I'll be finishing it and polishing it in the next few days. Had fun though! And thats what LDs are all about!

Controls are pretty intuitive, if I do say so myself, but a quick explaination can be found by clicking the Instructions icon on the right-hand side. Press U to see an alternate UI style.

The idea is good (obviously I am required to say that since we had similar ideas). At first I didn't know I had to build towers, so I thought it was broken because I couldn't shoot anything. But even when I figured that out, I managed to get a tower on every spot in the grid, but the enemies still got all the way to the center, but I couldn't die. Like I said, the idea is there, but it needs a little work (at least a way to actually kill the enemies or die yourself) to be really playable.

The enemies do die, but there is no way to upgrade your towers yet to cope with the gradually increasing strength and durability of the enemies. On the lowest dificulty, a normal tower takes 2 shots to kill an enemy, and every fifth wave the enemies increase in level - extra health, and thus extra dmg capability, as damage dealt to the base is the amount of health the enemy has remaining when it collides with it.

Even in chrome this doesn't work for me :(
Oh,I got an error.
Math.prototype is undefined. gameLoader line 47
You could simply write Math.sign=function(x){...}

Hmmm thats odd... I wonder why it works for some and not others. I'll amend it right away regardless. Thanks for the heads up!
