Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

A short, mellow, aesthetically-driven game.

Tbh the labyrinth part was a bit annoying for me. The mood, the sound and the visual are great!
Great visuals!
I like how the dots can sometimes push you around.
That was beautiful! Very atmospheric, and very emotional through simple means.
The simple but effective graphics combined with the relaxing music create a very atmospheric game. Good job! :)
This game is very atmospheric. I like the background music and the clear visual style. Otherwise, sometimes it seemed to take an age to get from one point to another. Maybe you could speed up the player a bit?
Beautiful looking game! Great use of lighting and music, everything seemed to fit together perfectly. My only complaint would have to be that the movement is a bit too slow, but overall amazing entry! 5/5!
Ludumdare version doesnt work (probably cross origin policy)
Twinkle twinke little star how i wonder what you are ... o i have got a friend ... are you my friend? why are you attacking me? Oh did i loos you behind that wall ... o you are fast faster than light you can pass walls :D
Simple beautiful graphics great music and overall mood.
All in all great experience! Best game so far.
Pretty colors, AMAZING soundtrack, great entry.
Would add some sort of "story" behind what's happening, even if it's a simple "You're a firefly who needs to find all the other multi colored fireflies in order to transform into a giant ultra mega firefly and destroy all humanity"... or something better.
Have to say it again - great track.
More an experience than a "game", but a really beautiful one! The labyrinth in the later stages can get a bit tedious. But it is like playing in a music video, very cool :-)
Game looked great! but felt sluggish. Getting bumped by the lights felt like it slowed the player too much.
Relaxing! A bit too slow for me though. But I like the music and the lighting. Overall, great job!
Looks and sounds pretty however the slow heavy movement make it a bit tedious to play.
Excellent mood, I like the visuals and all my glowing friends. Made me feel like the mother badger in "Shelter". Not much challenge though and moving through the maze needed something to keep it from getting tedious.
It's really beautiful. I enjoyed playing it. I think the controls being a little over-unresponsive doesn't fit this game so well, but the music and the minimalist graphics do.
I love the music and the colors, I like that the dots can push you and it makes it harder. Great job :)
Beautiful. The music dynamic/style reminded me of Electroplankton (is it, by any chance, inspired by it?). Great concept!
It was cool. Silly bug when you trap your buddies behind a wall and then run far as possible they can knock you out of the map. :D
Not bad, though I'm not sure it's fun to play if more levels are added.
Beautiful lights! I think the particles around us move too fast and have hard displacement, do you know the steering forces? I could be a great improvement =D
Beautiful game indeed :)
Graphics combined with the music and level changes were amazing! I couldn't just stop playing the game until the very end :)
Thank you for this game :)
Yay I beat it. I liked it when the maze appeared. I think the speed of the character could be faster. I liked the simple graphics a lot. Overall, I enjoyed escorting my group of neon friends around :)
Can't say it was particularly fun or interesting gameplay-wise, but worth playing if only for the music!
At first I kind of like how the lights continued to act as physics objects after they started following you, but once it got to the maze sequences, that started to interfere with the game a bit. Occasionally they would get caught on a wall and suddenly slingshot outwards a few seconds later. If they hit you while doing this they could even send you careening out of control!
btw the web embed ~just barely~ doesn't fit in the viewport and has a tiny vertical scroll. You might want to scale it down slightly to make it fit or add the fullscreen button.
Very beautiful indeed. At first I was just curious, then I was just trying to listen to the whole music and then BAM a wall. When I saw the maze my mind was blown.
Very intriguing and amazing experience, I just missed a reward, maybe a full music or an effect on the lights at the end. Anyway, good work!
Aesthetics are pretty nice. Would wish that the particle thingies would leave a trail though, would be nice; more relaxing, maybe. Pretty nice!
Simply lovely. Finished the game. I loved every aspect of it (chill speed, labyrinth surprise, bouncy friends). Now I'm just sitting here listening to the music. Might be cool to make kind of a "art-generator" with the light paths.
Very immersive game, and philosophical also, you can even meditate about it, love the sounds and the atmosphere, i felt it a little bit slow, but i dont think thats some kind of problem, i just loved the gameplay (:
Hi all.
Thanks for the great comments!
If you want to download the music, I've got it posted here.
Agreed on the slowness and annoyance of the labyrinth. However, I think you have the makings of something special here. All you need is some better level design to make it flow.
Awesome! The first 5 for the Mood that I ever give in this Ludum Dare!
I think that there're some deeper meaning that you put in it, but I don't get it :)
Anyway it's amazing!
Looking great, music is nice too.
Mazes are a bit annoying as you don't really see where are you going.
It would be nice if player was faster with each glowing thing, but instead they sometimes slow you...
One of the things I look for in games are visual upgrades as you progress, like Diablo 2 where you get to see more than just bigger #s. Even when the mazes got daunting, I still squeezed out a few more runs just to collect more fireflies to grow my horde. If you wanted to get a little nuttier with the aesthetic upgrades, you could even have each firefly add an additional instrument or note sequence to the music. Pretty inspiring game!
The was nice mellow game. I thought the maze was cool to increase difficulty but maybe should consider increasing the speed as it navigating the maze was a bit of a pain. The light and sound effects were great, I enjoyed the mechanic of the smaller bits of light trying to knock you off course. Overall well done and keep up the great work
cool relaxing entry, I really liked the music, the colors and the general mood.
the labirynth was a nice surprise!
Hey, that is a really nice game.
You should be proud of this!
It kind of reminds me of snake!
You could improve the audio but overall not bad!
Also please go ahead and test out my game!
It is simply beautiful. You have done a great job.
But this game can be improved. Here some suggestions:
First, I think that the movement of the small fireballs need some feedback, like some blinks.
And talking of the fireballs, sometimes they go out of the room.
Really cool visuals and audio! I especially liked how a new instrument track was introduced every time a new dot appeared. Well done :)
This is very interesting concept and game eventually! Nice job!
PS: You give a good idea!)
like the music, really helps the mood of the game! I think it was a bit weird the friends could bump into you and slow you down since it didn't seem mechanically important to collecting the other friends, but it was nice when they pushed me in the right direction, perhaps if that supported moving somehow (perhaps they just push you in the right direction or maybe you just move faster or they let you know what direction to go in). I also could start to guess where to go (don't go directly) when the walls started appearing. Keep up the great work!
Super chill, I like the slow movement, but it would be cool to have a speed boost mechanic.
Very pretty, great music. I think there could be more to the "companions" and the tones that they produce when they bump into you. It seems like they currently try to play along with the music, but often miss? And all they really achieve when they hit you is annoyance. Good game though!
A nice audio-visual interactive musical exercise.
Moving felt kind of a drag when moving through the maze (felt unnecessary).
Particles could also be a little bigger :)
Nice Soundtrack, interesting atmospheric experience, personally could maybe could do with a bit more gameplay/challenge to complete the experience. Pretty cool
Very aesthetically pleasing! Love the music and the mood it invokes. Good job! :D
Fantastic work on the music and atmosphere. Gameplay-wise, I agree that the movement can be a bit slow and heavy.
Liked the beautiful minimalist design, helped set the atmosphere. The way the lights worked together was also nicely done.
Impressive mood and music, it's goregous.
I just find the maze mechanic pretty tedious, especially with such slow movements. If you could spped them up a bit, I guess the game should gain a lot.
What a beautiful aesthetic! It's really a pleasurable experience, although it's a shame there isn't at least a bit more to do than just walk slowly towards the goal. And when you managed to get the balls stuck behind a wall and walked far away, the balls could get so fast the collision system broke and I got half of them stuck outside of the playing field.
But I'm just pointing out the little problems, all in all it's one of the nicest experiences I've found this Ludum Dare! 5/5 in mood, graphics and audio for me! :)
Really great mood and graphics! The controls were veeery slow though. I'd buy it for my phone, just so you know.
I like the look and the sound fit with it nicely! The only suggestion I have would be to consider speeding up the movement a little bit.
Gorgeous game.
It would be nice if it had more levels and a some lose condition (a timer or traps), but it's really awesome for a 48h entry. Congratulations.
That was an awesome use of colours, lighting and audio! I love games that can add on different tracks as you progress, and this game executes that beautifully. I did find the movement to be a little on the slow side, but I stuck with it to the very end. I love the additions of the mazes as different lights were collected, and how you had to use the light particles to help you light the way around. Excellent entry!

Lovely concept! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/jorB_de2Urk

Beautiful! I like it very much. Maybe the moving is a bit slow for me.
