Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Robot Gambit

by Saxon Douglass - Jam Entry

Build and program your own team of robots, and then descend in to the dungeon and see if you can defeat all of the monsters - all without even leaving your ONE ROOM!

Step 1: Blueprints - Kit out your 3 robots with complementary gear. You'll want a mixture of offensive, defensive, and support but you can't have everything!

Step 2: Behaviours - Program your robots with a set of triggers: when CONDITION is met, it will perform ACTION against TARGET. If the first trigger doesn't apply then it evaluates the next one and so forth.

Step 3: Battle - Descend in to the dungeon and fight a series of successively tougher encounters against robopunk monsters. Try to defeat all 10 encounters to emerge victorious!

Pro tip: make sure to equip some gear and add triggers for your weapon attacks before you battle - otherwise you'll quickly lose!

This is a fantastic idea, but I feel a little overwhelmed. Since I don't know what combat is going to be like, it's hard for me to spend all this time outfitting robots and setting up behaviors.

Perhaps you could start with one robot, and a really limited set of behaviors?

I really like this kind of algorithmic combat (like FFXII), and with a bit of polish this could be dope.
