Ludum Dare 37 — December 9th-11th, 2016 — Theme: One Room

Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

The Singularity Room

by lordrobotron - Compo Entry

Three scientists have delved far too deep into science of space and time and have accidentally created a singularity to another dimension. Creatures have invaded their lab, defeat them and save earth!

Only one level completed, ran out of time to make any instructions or even a real storyline. I wanted to have multiple levels, to give the characters and enemies special abilities to increase the strategy. I got stuck and spent a lot of time trying to implement an item system and had to drop it in the end.

Scientist Shaela has a gun and can shoot at range.
Have your guys team-up against one enemy at a time. Enemy AI isn't that smart

Aliens have consumed the humanity :D. Love the art style and the concept, the game seems a bit too difficult though, i tried a couple times and couldn't get past the first level.

Beat the first level - looks like that's the only one?
Props for putting an entire working TBS together. There isn't much strategy to be sure. I couldn't save one of my scientists tho, so maybe that's just my excuse..

Cool! I love turn-based strategy games. I feel like I'm playing pixel-art X-Com.

Love the music and art style too.

Couldn't get the embedded version to play. Only got a dark teal screen. Running on Mac OS X 10.11. Same in Firefox and Chrome.

I love the voice sound FX you made! Very funny! I love the sprites, too especially the monsters! Good job!

Tough genre to do for a jam, but you pulled it off pretty nicely. Only thing missing is more levels.

Fun turned based game! Played a couple of times, kept dying, that flying brain man! Was fun to play!

The music is really good and I had fun. Barely made it alive. Only the woman left with 2 health. But I survived. Very educational - we must not underestimate the dangers of science, and that fatalities that can ensue.

Art is really nice! I'm sorry you ran out of time, it was still nice to play that one level though :)

Short and sweet. I thought I was doing poorly, but then the AI made some bad decisions. Credit for doing voice acting during an LD.

I love the scientists voices! The music and art style fit very well together. But, it's a very simple turn based game (I know, game jams are difficult).
Gratz! :)

I was digging the music. The game felt well balanced. I actually played it a few times. I won on the first playthrough but lost on the 2 subsequent attempts. The characters voices actually made me laugh because I could tell it was all the same person making them. Loved it. Great job.

Nice aliens! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :)
