Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

behold the cryptic

by ooku - Jam Entry

A trippy rhythm-typing game.

Type in a static rhythm and experience how hard it is to talk like a robot.

Cool little game, love the music! First time I played a rhythmic typing game as far as I remember. Makes me want to dance :)

This is super cool, I played through several times to hear more of the music (I still sucked at it though). Sound definitely required.

Overall quite special this game. The rhythm seems like a pattern, when i follow it, it's work well, personally feel not really follow the music rhythm, am I the one feeling the same?

This is kinda psychedelic lol. The static moving background, the sound, the pumping letters, everything... and that's good i guess lmao!

Here you go: I am not very good at making gameplay videos. I just thought you'd enjoy seeing someone play your game :)

wow what a cool concept. This was the first game I've played like this. At first I was just typing fast but then I realized you needed to type to the music. The music was cool and the concept was super creative.

the game eventually gets hard on the eyes, but good graphics anyway. The streak music and its timing is good as well. I liked how the game changed the text based on the player's mistakes.

Very innovative! I've never played a game like this before that involves rhythm. the visuals were quirky, but cool and well done. The typing effects and wrong tempo/letter indicators were perfect. Main complaint is that the pulsing of the letter drifted from the beat of the song, making it even more difficult. The scoring was also quite confusing as I had 0 or 1 points after completing a few words in a row. Overall, great job and very unique!

Really enjoyed this entry. Had a strange but cool atmosphere about it and I quite enjoyed how surreal it was in both appearance and gameplay.
