Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

My Dear Pepe

by Chroteus - Jam Entry

A boy and his toy toad. Match made in heaven. Or is it? Even if it isn't it doesn't matter, because that toad is the only entity in the world he trusts. And he's going to do anything to protect it.
Using turrets and your sword, defend your best friend - Pepe.

WASD for movement
Mouse for sword control
Clicking or pressing spacebar skips dialogues.

1- Music was not entirely finished by the end, so first release is without music.
2- Game has not been tested for difficulty, so it may be too hard or too easy, not sure.

Nice Idea! You can knock out of level pepe so it's easy to win and I got RTE class/Emmiter.lua105 in 3rd level

Very fun main mechanic with the sword - a fullscreen mode would be nice, though, I found it very easy to move the mouse out of the playing area by mistake. Also, I accidentally managed to move Pepe out of the map, making it impossible for the zombies to hit him. Mission accomplished, I guess.
These things aside, though, it is a very fun little game, nice entry! Will Pepe turn out to be the villain all along?

I liked the mood the scenario puts you in.
You even managed to integrate upgrades!
Pepe looks gorgeous. I would like to see a game with him as a main character.

I was surprised to discover a great game (Because, you know, pepe )

The control are tights and I dig the Analog use of the sword. Not sure i've seen taht elsewhere.

The sound, the knockback, the particles makes hitting those thing a pleasure! You can bath in there blood ! Great little persitence deatails !

There's a weird End-of-the-world / Everything-has-gone-bad mood. It feels like despair and I love it !

Great Job on this game !

(2 bugs: You can push pepe inside the walls. And got a crash at wawe 3 : )

Love the particles. Love I could whirlwind :D
I actually managed to push Pepe out of bounds so he was safe and I could deal with these disgusting blobs :)
Good job!

Neat mechanics but it gets a bit annoying when you're close to the sides and the mouse pointer frequently ends up outside the window. Also I managed to knock Pepe through a wall making it impossible to lose. Still I liked it. :)

This is great! I'm usually a bit bored of le danke meymeys but this caught me off guard!

The cure little one liners and the opening sequence made me smile and the gameplay was entertaining and different from the other wave based defence games that have been submitted!

This needs to be expanded upon! 5/5

I was highly enjoying the game until.. well.. I broke it.
I moved Pepe next to a wall and next enemy hit sent him out of the room (Link #1). Also, when I tried to stay in the gap which spawns enemies, I just seemed to push one of the foes back and it gave me the fatal error (Link #2)

Interesting mechanics, but i killed all enemies of 3rd wave and stuck :(

this is really cool. Had a lot of fun swinging my sword and killing those slimey beasts. The dynamics that come from you being able to push enemies and Pepe are surprisingly deep.
Th feedback when killing the guys is very satisfying.
Nice one.
