Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

GameRoom

by RadMcCool - Jam Entry

So one room... I spend a lot of time in this one room and that was basically the inspiration for this game.

BASICALLY, this room has detached from the ground and is off flying on an adventure. its got a LIMITED POWER SOURCE so if theres a POWER FAILURE you'll be left drifting in the wind. save up your money to BUY UPGRADES for your room. then DEFEAT THE BOSS Brown-Castle and then kind of just float there forever...

TLDR: top down shooter, upgrade shop, gun drains battery, shoot small things, then one big thing, the end.

Great game, but you should have ended it with some menu to play again.

This is some weird stuff right here.

The balance could have used some love and care, I think. It got to the point very early that I had all the upgrades, and could merely hold down space for a second or two while traversing left and right, and just never see another enemy as money rained from the sky. Due to how quickly you could shoot and how few hits each enemy took, the limited power system never really came into play, so it became dull to play shortly.

An interesting idea, though, and seemed fairly bug free! Aside from the omni-present "LIGHTING NEEDS TO BE REBUILT".

I had a fun time playing this! Would be cool if you had harder difficulty modes.

A shmup where the "ship" is a room? This is brilliant! No one is ever allowed to complain that an LD theme is to restrictive again, ever.

A little more polish to explain and introduce the controls inside the game would have been nice. Was quite a conceptually weird but cool game!

Fun game! Like the idea of the room being a weapon and upgrading added stuff into the room. The web version was OK for me (Firefox). Good job!

Nice game, and I really liked the use of the theme here! Good work on the models and solid gameplay. However, it needs some balancing, with all the upgrades it is way too easy. On my first playthrough I had enough money to buy all upgrades at the first shop, and on my second play, I found a bug - there is no check if you have enough money. I bought all the upgrades on the first shop and ended up with negative money.. Anyway, good effort!

This was so much fun, first 3d game I've tried that plays well. Although was I supposed to be able to have negative money? Idc though this is really cool
