Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

Hey, I liked your game it was actually fun.
You can improve the audio and the graphics at some point but overall not bad!
And please go and try out my game!
Oh, what a lovely game! Nice Speccy-style graphics and exciting gameplay. And this music is just fantastic! It adds a lot of charm. Thanks, guys.
Good game. Could you please add more gameplay features and improved graphics solution. Also please make gameplay to progress faster.
game was really good. liked the graphics and gameplay. hard to control, like the real joust. great work.
Ah, I couldn't play the game, because I don't have the java development kit. You should be able to package it so I can run it without that, which is allowed post-compo.
The game is a little too easy. It felt like I never lost any lives even though I bumped into enemies multiple times. Graphics look good though.
Version 1.423 has been released.
- bugfixed Extra Lives. 2500, every 5000 till 25000, every 10000 till 65000 and then every 15000 after that.
- bugfixed Enemy generation so the game should be harder in general.
- added more bullet crystals on the last few levels.
- command line options added.
fast - for a harder / faster version of the game
fullscreen - to expand the app to fullscreen.

@AcuadoyStudios - Thanks. Definitely thinking about expanding the design. Adding inventory / weapons and a populated place to scroll about explore in.
@Vadim Ivshin - Thank you very much. You might like another work in progress / project of mine - Lazer Neon Quazar a Shoot'm"Up.
@Alexander Kondyrev - Thanks man. I have been meaning to write a game like this for quite a while and will continue to build on it.
@sP0CkEr2 - Thank you very much. I started designing a joust like game back in the late 1980's on the Amiga which was never finished so it so I am stoked that I did get this one finished.
@Jezzamon - Looking into making a JRE bundled version using the Open JDK.
@stefvanschie - Thanks for the critique. You can run the game in fast mode which makes it harder just use the option fast when running it from the command line. Will be adding a hard command line option which will implement a harder version (weaker player, more enemies, less power ups).
i really enjoy your version of joust. i loved the graphics and the gameplay was good, a bit stiff but good. great game, congrats.
Good music, graphics were interesting, controls felt slippery from all the bounce. I played through a few levels and thought it overall pretty good.
I absolutely love the graphics and the music, but there was simply no difficulty to this game. I could never really get hurt, no matter how hard I tried to. I never took damage from the bats, and I only took damage from the other birds like once. Maybe there's something wrong with how it runs on my computer.
Really liked the aesthetic and the music, however the vast majority of the time enemies hit me they died and I took no damage, so you might want to fix that.
@jeich
Thank you very much.
@Cerberus
You are welcome! Thanks.
@Karai17
Thank you.
@Karai17
Thanks. The original arcade controls are even trickier. :-)
@TheMonsterFromTheDeep
Thanks. What os / resolution you running? Using a new auto scaling method.
@Chao
Thanks. Will be adding a hard mode option.
Thank you for the critiques.
@Chaoslab: I was running it on Windows 7 - my resolution is 1920x1080.

I can't run the game sadly (windows 10 x64). But the art looks really good.
