Hello LD community!

"Bye." is a simulation game in which you hire workers, unlock and build parts of the modular spaceship to flee from Earth. The more parts you finish or start, the better your highscore. You're a genius scientist that controls all this from his "spacious basement". I recommend using the "Help" button in the main menu to get insight in how to play!

The controls are almost completely done with mouse, beside of controlling the camera slightly with A/D/W/S or arrow keys. I couldn't finish the "Hacking" feature because of time reasons. That's why it's greyed out.

I didn't have much time to play and balance it (stats, costs), tho I tried my best to so on the side. There is definetly quite a dozen events that can happen and make the game easier or harder. A little something: You can write in your name at the bottom where it says "Your Basement Laboratorium" if you click on it.

This is a solo project ;), so everything: Sascha Christmann

Known bugs
- World events happen daily instead of 33% chance
- When a worker with too low stats works on a project it will blow up with a 100% chance instead of 12,5%. This is shown with red numbers in the "Workers" menu tho and you can avoid it.

How the score is determined
Points needed for construction of a ship piece will add up to your score. If the piece is in progress but not finished you will get half the points for that piece.

Main Chassis: 250 or 125
Fusion Reactor: 900 or 450
Bridge: 100 or 50
Biodome: 700 or 350
Extra Cargo: 200 or 100
Satellite: 300 or 150
Vehicle Bay: 400 or 200
Rear Thrusters: 0. Seems like I just found a bug and it counts the points for Vehicle Bay twice :/ Would have been 200 or 100.

Hehe I 've blown up my ship :D Nice Work. Very humorful notifications... I like the visualisation of the hangar... played it twice... nut do you know what? I've blown my shjip up again. I think this time I did nothing wrong... or did I?

Nice game, a bit difficult to understand in the beginning, but well done ! I really like the notes about how workers killed themselves, very funny :D

I really liked the models and the visual, it fells smooth. Also, the mechanics are really interesting, even though I kind of find a bug in the Biodome progress, it wasn't getting any progress even with lot of workers assigned to it. I did almost every possible upgrade to the spaceship ( execept by the Biodome).

Overall, I had fun with your game, nice work! :)

A very nice spaceship construction simulator! :)While the gameplay could have benefited from additional balancing, the game is very entertaining as it is. And I love the visuals!

The lab needs some serious workspace safety improvements, but then we would not have the very funny accident descriptions :)

After reach final day, I can't finish the game, because Next day was disable, and left days was 0.

I like that news, it was really funny :)

Yes, day 0 is the last day. I didn't have time to include a cinematic. The popup on the bottom left is showing your score at day 0.

Nice game overall, but I was really bad at it. Really liked the humor; really worked with this style of game.

Cool management game, I liked the funny flavor popups, actually made me read them rather than just scan for numbers hehe...

I'd be cool if the UI for research had tooltips for what didn't fit on screen.

YES!
I am amazed this was done by one person for 48 hours.. You did a great job! Management games are hard to plan out and this is full-packed with design and mechanics... it was all laid out well and the humor! xD
I give it a 5/5 overall
I'd play it again so i keep this one around

Thanks for the updated version! This is like those types of games I'd play when I have time, I feel like there's more to it... So i'll keep a copy installed in my device to play some other time

I like the management games like this!
Cool graphic and music.
Only at the end I found a little confusing what happened. I only saw a popup on the left sayin i mad 20xx points. After few seconds it disappeared. Maybe this could be a little more clear.
BTW a great game.

This needs more work on UI. It looks like there are some data on left and right that are cut out in window mode. When switching between workers/research/task earlier panels should turn of because that make a lot of mess on screen when they are all turned on.

This was so great to build my own ship ! At least i past something like 10 days not knowing about the "research" part and asking why nothing was completing in some task bars XD But then i remembered the button :p

Great mastering of UE for 72hours aaaaaaand the global ambiance is damn fun ! Your comments on situation are terrific, i loved it XD

Yeah, it does. I don't want to link it here, but if somebody looks for this game on itch.io there is an updated version with a proper score screen and an outro scene that contains the ship you built.

@xesenix:
You're correct, the UI can get cut off in certain resolutions. One of the things I didn't have time to optimize.

Cool concept. Always nice to see management games on a compo. I would like to see how the game would look with all that UI streamlined and able to see everything at a glance. The mood and humour are pretty nice. Good job!
