Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Become an amateur botanist by growing and experimenting with different breeds of plants; discover what's needed for success via reports and log possible new breeds as your own.
Instructions:
- Successfully grow plants and discover breeds in your log.
- Change the temperature, water levels, soil types and/or plant pots.
- Plant a seed or multiple varieties in a single pot to create crossbreeds.
- Once all breeds are discovered, you have reached your goal!

Mood is great: music+cute art+mini parralax. I will use this mini parralax idea on futere LDs, thx ^D
Notes is great part of mood too. Good job/
Firstly I was a bit confused with "Incompatible" messages, and thinked that I cann't combine these seed anyway. But then I understand logic of game :p
Height of game's window is bigger, then my screen height a bit :0 But game is still playable.
Also, big thx for streaming my LD36 game on twitch.
very fun game! I felt like a scientist, mixing and matching variable, trying to control things. Only complaint is that I wasn't sure what "Incompatible" was supposed to mean. I assumed it meant those breeds didn't mix, but later I found that they in fact did.
Good job, an enjoyable experience, I'd like to play it on my phone in the subway. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback, you actually were understanding what incompatible meant, unfortunately our code wasn't (Whoops!), added a quick fix for it, thanks for the heads up.
loving the very idea of this game and actually managed to find all the plants! Scrolling down on the Findings screen with a mouse-wheel is very slow and sluggish. It's also quite complicated to "swipe" on a PC to bring up and bring down that board. Once I got the hang of controls though I really liked this game.
A fun, relaxing, fiddle with things game with lovely mushrooms, was quite invested in it! Could easily see it being expanded on. I've made more indepth comments in this video. https://youtu.be/GvnbFVF6-m4
Great feeling of experimenting with different pots, temperature and moisture levels! I also like how the interface is made.
I also would love to grow only one plant but influencing it to see what will come in the end. ^_^
Pretty interesting. It kept me playing until I had all plants. However, it was mostly guess work and randomly tweaking values. Some form of hint system might have made me work with more direction.
Graphics are very good, music is fairly suitable-maybe a little too mysterious.
Really polished! Well done, can't really fault it except to say that I would've liked more of a sense of purpose, it was just experimentation. But then again I guess that's what you were going for :)
The concept is really nice, I would work a bit on controls as they didn't seem natural to me (but that might have been only my feeling though).
Music matched the game quite well, and the idea is very catchy.
That is really lovely. I enjoyed the art and the sound effects. Really gentle and soothing.
Beautiful artwork! That last plant was my favorite (the black one with all the colors) I would love to have plushies of these! Brilliant and adorable plant designs. I loved the touch of having the clipboard to report the findings, and getting to experiment. Great job! I love this so much!
Great work! Loved the art, and the parallax effect made it look extra good. Music fit well, too.
I grew all the plants, and even grew a "Glorious" Mushaum. I liked the experimentation gameplay, and the note-taking made it feel more meaningful instead of just pure trial-and-error.
The swipe to open the menu was kinda annoying with a mouse. Would have been nice if I could just click it or even just press enter or something. The game also didn't seem very tied-in to the theme, but I didn't really mind.
I agree with other commenters that this would be a cool mobile game. I think I would like if there was some kind of limited resources (seeds, pots, etc.) so that you had to think more carefully about what experiments you're gonna perform. Or maybe experiments could take a certain amount of time, and you have to come back later to see the results. Like Neko Atsume, but for plants!
The art really drew me into playing this, and I enjoyed it and unlocked all the possible plants on the clipboard. Like some of the other players, the window extended past the height of my screen and I wasn't actually able to grab the clipboard. I did manage to load the game in fullscreen, however, and it worked fine then.
It's a really great game, with fantastic art. I had a lot of fun mixing and matching different combinations of the components and attempting to grow them. I was confused about how the lighting was to be recorded, so I'm glad the clipboard kept note of the successful attempts. I also liked being able to type in your records in the clipboard itself; it definitely added a sense of completion and progress. The scrolling for the clipboard is a little wonky; to scroll down, I had to scroll up first, then down, but it all worked out in the end.
The music was a bit odd to hear at first, as I had played a browser game called Small Worlds where this music was used for a snowy area, but I think the waltz and mysterious feel help to set a good, wondrous mood for playing the game. Overall, it was right up my alley and I certainly felt like it was time well spent.

Great graphics, good music, the interface seems like it would be very well designed for a phone, but on a computer the constant swiping gets a bit annoying. I managed to figure everything out except for Cutethulu, which I cannot get for the life of me. For some reason, every combination that doesn't result in a plant is incompatible, unless I managed to miss one.
Very cool game though, and I loved the art!
Very charming and relaxing small game :) And i had a lot of fun to explore different versions of plants. Very well done :)
Great game! It might help to have a few more degrees of telling you how close you are, so you can tweak the parameters more. I loved that you can rename the plants on the clipboard!
A very unique idea! I envy one of you (or maybe more) in your team actually having knowledge of botany.
Gameplay is solid, well-made UI, beautiful graphics and sound. Thank You for the experience!
Super cute graphics! Very well made game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/rynCNhkOEDE

Nice little game, neat idea :) I could easily see this being a fun mobile game
