Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
Inside The Box is a competitive survival elevator simulator game. The only goal is to stay alive, or not. I recommend the Windows build but the web version "works".
CONTROLS:
WSAD and mouse for movement.
Leftclick to interact.
Escape to recenter mouse.

I was a little confused by this entry. I survived a hundred and change seconds, but I'm not sure what I could have done to stay alive longer. The snacks didn't drop fast enough to replenish my energy.
I was also intrigued by the explosions that kept going off. I would have liked to play longer and maybe get some sort of explanation about what was going on and why I was trapped in the elevator.
The mood was neat, but I also had trouble with the camera and mouse on both the web and windows versions.
That was really confusing! I decided to end the suffering at the end :)
I'd be interested to learn what the red "E" in the corner was for! I didn't seem to be able to do anything with it.
Really...strange game. I didn't realize standing in an elevator was so hazardous to my health. I do think being trapped in an elevator is great use of the theme, but the gameplay here isn't very clear.
Kind of a confusing entry, trying to click on objects while also using the mouse to look was quite difficult. Would work much more nicely using a crosshair in the center instead of relying on the un-locked cursor.
Cool idea, but both play throughs it wasn't clear what happened when I died or if I could have stopped it. Picking up objects was weird since the cursor also controlled head movement. Had a creepier vibe than I was expecting. Nice work.
interesting game, but not very replayable. I felt that clicking UI buttons was not a good choice to kill myself, rather using a key in the keyboard
Strange and confusing, I couldn't figure out what I should be doing.
The controls are way too sloppy to the point where I couldn't understand the game.

Well this was unexpectedly creepy. I feel like this game is trying to tell me something, but I can't quite work out what that would be. Would have liked to see a few more interaction possibilities. Maybe I missed them?
