Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

That's My Cookie

===== THE GAME

I didn't have much time to put on this game, but I still wanted to do something for this LD, so this is my game made in about 10 hours.

It is pretty simple: tap or click and hold on the screen where you want to move the knight, while in movement the knight can attack the monsters and protect the cookies in the room.

Sorry, no audio :(

I developed this game using the latest version of the cocos2d-x (3.13.1) and the art was made using Photoshop.

===== THE TEST

Windows: game working fine on Windows 10.

macOS: game working fine on macOS 10.12.1.

Android: game working fine on Moto G1 and Asus Zenfone (devices that I had available to test).

Thank you so much for checking out my game! Leave a comment below so I can check yours as well.

Nice game! The only thing that I miss is the game score in the game over screen.

Couldn't get it to run =(
Got an error that "MSVCR120D.dll" is missing. As I know, "D" in the name of dll stands for Debug. Did you compile your game fore release (never worked with cocos2d before, so that's my only guess)

I did not finish the game but it's looking fun

@Loyance I compiled on Debug mode, I'll try to generate a release build on Windows. What's your Windows version?

@liquidmedia thanks!

Hey the game looks nice but I couldn't run it because there is a .dll file missing on my PC!

@AcuadoyStudios I'm sorry about that! I managed to generate a new build on release mode, can you check that if that works for you?

@Loyance I hope this new build will work for you as well :)

Why are enemies not spawning faster over time?

Wow ! The control were not instinctive at all but curiously, that's where I had the fun from !

In such a short time, Well done, sir.

@Mouch I forgot this feature to make them spawn faster over time, it was in my list (with other features) but most of the I didn't have time to finish

@Casevse thanks!!

@BlueTheLemon I think that the instructions weren't clear, but I updated them in the description here. I'm glad that you enjoyed the game! :)

PC controls aren't the best but apart from that, it does what it says on the tin!

Dec 16, 2016 @ 10:01pm

The controls could be better. Good job though considering this was done in 10 hours!

Thanks @Turrus and @DalesDiscountTires!
I agree, the controls needs more polishment. If you have a chance to play on Android it should feel a little bit better because of the touch screen.

Hey dude, maybe should change the control, because the direction pushing the mouse is respect the cookie and not the player. Maybe could be good for touch enabled version. Liked the graphics and the idea (had this situation in real life before...) lol :)

Got to play it on Android and it's FUN!
If you continue developing this and release the game, that'd be awesome!
