I love that you can only shoot in the direction you're walking. That is a nice change of pace. A lot of fun!

I liked the graphics and sounds. Gameplay was lacking!

I enjoyed it, although it would be nice if there was a touch more too it, I got pretty lucky and the key was in the third pot I checked. I think the graphics suited it and the sound pots made, made them satisfying to smash and I destroyed them all before I grabbed the key ;)

The screenshake and overall game feel is pretty spot on. My wrist got tired from spamming the shoot button though :(

Thank you zzapp, yes you are totally right, now that i think of it, i could have made two or three levels with 2 o 3 keys to find that would have spiced things a bit. interesting and thanx.

This feels like a great foundation for a fun arena shooter, the projectile sound and screen shake makes your shots feel very powerful which I really like. I know the feel of not having enough time to put a lot of content in, but what you have could easily be built into a really fun web game. I would do some testing with what style of shooting feels best though. Personally I didn't love having to quick turn to shoot, BUT I am only one person so take what I say with a (rather large) grain of salt! Anyways good work with the game dood!

It would feel a lot better if pots/enemies disappeared as soon as the bullet hit them (before their explosion/sound effect). This is probably why people are saying they got tired of spamming shoot. I didn't even realize everything only takes 1 hit to destroy cause you can shoot it several times before it's actually gone. (Think about it logically.. If i break something, does the sound/explosion happen before I actually see the broken result? or after?) It's especially hard to tell with the enemies, because despite being dead, they're still moving toward you for a short moment... Anyway, other than that, solid work. as stated before, your shots do feel really powerful, which is nice.

Basic and short, but there's something there! I dug having to turn to shoot, it created an interesting mechanic trying to line up the shots. The screen shaking added to the impact of the bullets, which was a nice touch.

As others have said, I'd move the shoot button to space, since you don't use the mouse at all. If you're going to work on the game post dare, I would also increase the goal to be a tad more complex. For example, find the key, and the door, and then enter the door to go the the next level. Or find multiple objects. Something to differentiate it from other top down shooters.

Overall, as others said, it's a solid foundation, but more work needs to be done, but good job so far!

Pretty simple game, but the feedback when you kill the enemies is great! I think that with this kind of game though, you have to choose between using the mouse to let the player shoot in any direction OR using a button to shoot in the direction you're facing as it feels unintuitive to use the mouse as just a button without pointing at anything.

Thanx TitoMakaniJr for the feed back. i have played a lot of games that use mouse direction to shoot independent to where you are walking, and i love that mechanic but i wanted to try out this one where you have to face to shoot. if it doesnt work i will go back to the other shoot mechanic. thanx.

thanx for the feedback spacedoubt, i played it the way you said and you are totally right. i believe its because de collision box is still on a second before it destroys completely. i will try to set it as getting the first hit i will disable the collision. i hope it will feel better. thanx for the comment.

I like the fact that you can only shoot in the direction you move and screen shake feels great! Too bad it's quite easy to find the key and beat the game.

Gratz! :)

Great visuals and feel of the game. The shooting only in the direction of movement felt very strange. The game could have been a bit more flexed out.

One problem I encountered is that a change in direction does not take effect right away; I compensated by changing sooner. Link would have SO much fun in this room. XD
Fun entry!

Shooting direction by movement was excellent (similar to our game!) but I think you're using velocity not last key press to determine facing, which results in the player looking in unexpected directions after letting go of the movement keys sometimes. Otherwise a solid entry, particularly liked the screen shake :D

Took a while to get used to the old-school shoot-in-the-direction-you're-walking but in the end it presented a nice challenge. Controls were fine in that sense and had a solid acceleration feel. Audio was okay, but finding the key was a bit anticlimactic... One time it was the last one, another it was the first. Would have recommended leaving everything on one screen rather than doing a follow camera since you weren't taking advantage of the scrolling.
