Ludum Dare 37 — December 9th-11th, 2016 — Theme: One Room

Well, Mike ran in to problems getting working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.

by JackDTaylor - Compo Entry

I've ran out of time because I was facing a lot of issues along the road (mostly with 3D stuff and time management), but it's still a game with win/lose conditions and some kind of gameplay.

Destroy enemy tanks to win.

Tools used:
- Unity3D/MonoDevelop
- Blender
- xnView

- WASD/Arrows for moving
- Mouse for aiming
- Click to shoot
- Esc to access exit button

Known Bugs:
- Tank can (and will) get stuck if terrain under it is destroyed (Unity physics system is such a pain to work with);
- Movement is clunky: you can't move and rotate simultaneously (the same reason as above);
- Left and right are inverted when using arrow keys;
- Destroyed tank can start moving without any reason;

Additional notes:
- You may need to click at the screen so the game will capture your cursor.
- The game has no crosshair to make aiming more challenging.

This is my first entry for the LudumDare, and I've had a lot of fun participating!

The ground deforming is cool. I did get stuck once. The graphics are awesome. I can't put this down till I beat it. I almost go all three tanks.

There are nice graphics here, but it's fun as well! Good job! I did get stuck on the terrain once but I think it was because I sat still too long and the ground got really messed up.

Would be nice to have an aiming crosshair or arc showing where shells would go.

Takes some skill to get good here, lots of fun. Oh yeah and the terrain deforming is cool going to have to sift through your code on that one.

If you needed more time, you should've just switched to the Jam. :P
I thought it was fun, but it would've been nice if the game had a crosshair.

The ground deforming was good but I kept getting stuck almost immediately as the game started

Not bad, impressed with the terrain mechanic but I did get stuck a bit. Movement is clunky, but overall it's fun.

It's to hard to play with this controls from laptop, especially with non-querty keyboard layout.

Fun game, good take on the theme, love the sand effect and the look of the tank. I think you might have a concept to dig into

The ground terraforming was really cool, but I constantly got stuck :(. I liked there wasn't anything that let me know if my bullet was gonna hit(like a crosshair), more of a challenge :)

Music or sound effects would help heaps. Ground deforming was pretty sweet and those tank models are nice

Stunning visuals, very well done. The controls could be quicker? Like the concept very much

Cool game, graphs and gameplay. It only needs some kind of music or sound effects.

It's a little bit difficult. The ground deformation is a very interesting idea.

Good job!
Didn't realize it at first but after looking around I realized I played as a toy tank! hehe(Didn't read the title)
I found that getting stuck in ditches was a bit too easy which resulted in my death.

The terrain alteration is indeed nice. Any game where you can drive your tank into an upside down position has at least something to recommend it after all :-p

I think some audio-fx would help a /lot/ here, as well as hit/mis indications.

The best strategy is to ram the other tanks, otherwise, their aim is a little too good. Fun though, lots of fun :)

Really quickly I cannot move my tank on the deformed ground. However the IA seems to me really efficient. Well done. You should add sounds ++

It's a little bit hard to move, because of the movement, but I really like the graphics and the effects of the sand you made :3

I love the terrain deformation :) It`s hard to play because I usually got stuck after first 15 seconds but the general idea and gameplay is fun! :)

The sand looks nice but sometimes when enemies hit the sand the tank gets stuck and cannot move, perhaps that is part of the difficulty though. I liked that it happens on a desk in a room, that is really interesting, makes it look like toy story.
