Rubi's Room

You are in Rubi's Room, a fully transformable room like a Rubik's Cube. But Instead of solving a cube you have put the split objects inside the room back together. There are also little animals that can be cut and put together differently.

- Rotate the tiles of the room to put the split objects back together
- Split animals in two and put them right together for extra points
- Merge multiple objects at once or make combos for bonus points

Pretty cool idea! And it's probably very faithful to an actual Rubik's Cube because I'm rubbish at those and I found the game really hard :P I actually had to use easy mode while playing on easy.

And the game is very pretty but some way graphic quality options would be very welcome. My graphics card was struggling to keep up and kinda overheated. Might be something with my computer, but still, it's worth it to mention.

A shout out to a fellow one-room-as-a-rubik's-cube developer! Nice game. :) Did you decide not to implement Rubik's cube rules 100% accurate on purpose?

Thx, If you mean that you have to match the split objects instead of completing the room with the tiles. That is because I found that twist to be more interesting and is also easier then completing a Rubik's cube while still hard though. If you mean the rotating of objects on their tiles, that is just to make it easier for the easy mode because it is still so hard. In the hard mode you don't have that.

Didn't he mean by "not 100% accurate" that when you look at a wall and turn - for example - the left block of that wall to the bottom, that the whole left wall isn't turning with it like it would in a rubik's cube.

Very innovative! I loved how it both made a Rubix cube puzzle easier - I didn't have to undo my progress - but also harder - there's now orientation, and challenging camera angle. One of the most interesting parts of the gameplay is that it sometimes seemed easier to do in my head than in the game - I would look around at the furniture, stop and close my eyes, and do the rotations mentally.

Really interesting idea. Cool concept and graphics. I suck at this type of games so for me is very difficult to get a lot of points. Really good executed, the only problem that i found is that the camera is slow and i get a little tired after a while. One of the best games that i played yet. Great work!

at the beginning a bit too hard and sometimes a bit confusing but it's a great idea, challenging and for me the best use of theme so far :)

Wow, nice game! It was fun and challenging to play! I managed to complete it wice in hard mode, but I completely ignored the animals. The rotating of (slices of) the room worked fine, but made me a bit dizzy at times. ;) The graphics are nice and clean. Very nice take on the theme. :)

@Davision, actually I meant what Mouch said Mouch - you don't rotate whole sides when you rotate the border rows. Asking this because I almost forgot to implement it myself, but when I did I had to cut it because it made my game ten times harder.

@Mike Mezhenin, @Mouch Considering that never came up for me which is because I always considered it as tiles elements and not inverted cubes somehow. The wall, that is on the side of the tiles that you rotate, is not connected, there is the cut between. So mechanical, in real world it would also make sense the way I made it. I'm not sure if it would make it harder since it would give you another option to rotate objects in the hard mode, like a roll rotation.

I really like this idea even if I was a bit skeptic to start due to my inability to figure out the rubic's. But your version was much more forgiving, at least in the easy-mode (though I actually played it without rotating so I guess it should qualify as hard-mode.

One obvious problem with the game is the ability too see what is happening around you and it feels like it would work better in VR that way. I got many points behind my back from simply being a bit irregular about how I shuffled things.

Still I was enjoying myself and playing it to the very end.

So I think, though I've yet to try VR this side of the year 2000, that it would be more natural in that setting.

It would be quite easy to expand the concept, just as you did with the moving animals, one could have the task of making sure that some in-animate halves turn animate and that the right sorts collide in the right way.

​Now that was a brain twister. The graphics are really nice and the game controls in a very good way. The effects are fitting, and both the idea and the execution are just great. The only bad part about this game is reminding me that I'm bad a rubik's cubes, hah.

I can't believe this is the very first Rubik's cube thing I'm having fun with. I know it's not an actual real Rubik's cube, but, still...
This is very very fun and very well done. The graphics are super cute, the atmosphere is great, and the gameplay is, well, actually good! I'm happy I could try and understand Rubik's Cube through single, simple tasks.
Great job, this was really a solid entry!

Really clever idea, and very challenging. I managed to finish Easy mode in 538 seconds. I found the pig/goblin heads a bit confusing.
