Well, Mike ran in to problems getting ldjam.com working properly with about 12 hours left in the Compo, so this is the backup plan.
How To Cope With Boredom and Loneliness - A Guide For The Isolated - A Documentary Filmmaker Simulator
by rodobodolfo - Jam EntryHow To Cope With Boredom and Loneliness - A Guide For The Isolated
A Documentary Filmmaker Simulator
You play as Nigel Wimble, award winning filmmaker, as he completes his final episode of 'A Guide For The Isolated' series. His previous episodes include deathrow inmates, lighthouse keepers and the tribe of Mantitteewahwah. Tonight his focus is on 43 year old, Harold Fletcher, who has been grounded to his room for the past 30 years.
You are tasked with choosing the relevant scenes to shoot for the show. Examine the objects in Harold's room and pick the ones that hold the most potential for hard hitting television! Every item holds a story but not every story is relevant. Use your filmmaker intuition to pick the best scenes to make television gold!
Pick your scenes then sit back and watch the show. Viewers will rate the show at the end. Try to get a perfect score of 30!

Our game is less of a game and more of a create your own documentary type of thing. It's really silly and we had a lot of fun making it. We hope you enjoy playing!

- Linux support is experimental, a known bug is that lip-sync does not work and the actors will just open the mouth at the beginning of the line.

I loved this, it was hilarious. I felt so bad for him that I did my best to portray him in a good light and got a 10/10 the first time, but now I'm having a hard time getting a bad score. Maybe I swung too hard the other direction (making him look pitiful) and need to focus on some boring stuff, but he seems to have something funny to say about everything... :D
Wow! That was really great. The art, music and general concept of the game were all just fantastic. I also really appreciate good voice overs and these ones were really well done.
Hahaha I love this so goddamned much. Amazing audio and visuals. Very polished feeling, good job. I am impressed.
I never gave a game 5/5 on humor before, until now! Really funny and at the same time a bit sad. The voice acting is seriously amazing for a game jam, games in general really, art is good too.
God, this game is mind-blowing. Thanks for this piece of art, guys. All 5 stars, it's worth it.
That was awesome, nice work !!! Outstanding ! And all dubbed ! Really funny, you did a great job !
First got Bad, then Regular.
The only thing is that the written things are a bit too fast, I didn't have time to read them entirely.
But this was really unexpected, I liked it !!!
Damn this game is good. The only remark I have is that my computer lagged when the final documentary is shown, it used up all my cpu usage. Other then that I really loved it, I have given it the maximum amount of starts!
Definitely the funniest LD game I've played so far, great writing!
Man, this game is hilarious. Great art and sound, you catch the theme very well. Congratulations.
Good work! I love this! We need more humor games in the world. Thanks for adding a lot of laughter to LD37. :)
Everything is so well done. I think that my favorite part so far is the amount of work done for voices and the mouth animations. Just amazing.
Hilarious and sad. Excellent job with everything! There is just one a little annoying thing: If you are an impatient person like me and fast-forward the text showing up by clicking (especially in the intro), it dissapears automatically after like 0.5 seconds. It should stay a little bit longer or till you click again, so it is possible to read it.
Oh, goodness! This is great! :D Had some great fun playing this one! Really amazing and funny take on the theme!
Everything is so nicely tied up together, it really felt nice playing this point 'n' click game, great mood set up, thanks to the soundtrack, audio bites and the simulated camera! :D
It would be pretty fun if you could make it a whole season! :P Or something like a full game with each episode being about "Loneliness", "Anger" and things like that!
Amazing work, really! It's short, but really enjoyable!
It's incredibly nice!!!!!! The moment he pulled out the guitar is really poignant :D
Oh this is good! it's hilarious and yet also very sad. brilliant!
the style is very coherent, the art, the mood. the audio is great. I love the voice acting and the song about car bed.
It really is fun to try with all the objects and see what will be the story and the meta critic.
excellent game!
Really funny game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/kL8oXDGWrLQ
Wow! That is quite an entry you've got here! I liked the graphics, I liked that you've voiced all of the phrases in your game and how pretty polished it all looks together.
It's also nice how many items you've put in the room to investigate and then do iterview about.
Wow, amazing. You've got lots of great feedback so I won't repeat it.
I'm amazed at the amount of content you've got here - all scripted and voice acted, no less - in 72 hours.
So good!!! Everything about this game is brilliantly executed.
The writing is fantastic, the characters are great, and everything is just so polished - even the lip-syncing looks fantastic.
One criticism I have is that subtitles didn't stick around long enough, preventing me from reading them fully.
But that's nothing! Amazing job! I love this!!
I also included this game in an article of my favorites! http://fireside.gamejolt.com/post/jam-favorites-ludum-dare-37-gwqmcmek

Fantastic game! This is funniest parody/spoof-game I have played for a long time!
It has great graphics, fitting music, and many small touches like the simulated camera angles and hilarious sound bites, making the game feel very polished. Excellent work! :)
